I don't work!! I know they tryin to reach the largest fan base but it seems that they prefer take the real rapper from the south than the imitators ! And i think it's logik! U sure can do one or two song with the south touch but nowadays most of the westcoast artist have southsound and it's doesn't give them more shine or exposure. The west artist have to find their own style like in the past . i don't mean we have to go back to the gfunk sound or the gansta type song but the west artist seems to lost their musical identity ! the west is known for certain thing (gang weed , beach party ...)  i don't say we have to stay stick to the "cliché" but it's part of the west identity . I think they have to pick the best from the past and the best from what we have now ! But please don't do what everybody do! The west has to be a leader not a follower .

Originality is the key to survive !

Isn't the point of a message board to discuss topics? If someone has a question, but doesn't want to bump an antic thread why can't he make a new topic? I see your point, but not everyone wants to do research to get answers ;)

You might as well make a website with FAQ's :P

u dont get it do u?

that old 90s sound is soo fuckin dead and out of date. nobody except hardcore westcoast fans like u n me is checkin for it.

and its hard to create a whole new sound just like that. and when they do all you say is "im not feelin it", "i was expecting more", "this sound like south"

so the only thing they cna do to create a hit, to blow up, to sales records is to cater to shit thats hot right now.

you dumb ass muthafuckas need to stop with the fucking "dont sell out", "dont use south beats", "work only with westcoast producers" bullshit.

music is fuckin music.

Game got a so called eastcoast flow, uses different types of beats and look at him, hes on the top.

Stop tryna pigeonhole the new comers and fuck with it or not.

The only reason niggas on dubcnn want "westcoast production" anyway is because they wanna hear new Quik, Battlecat and all the other dubcnn favorite beats.

Its not because you wanna hear that artist work with the producer he feels fits him, its just that you ppl dont get to hear Quik, Battlecat and etc beats that often n thats why
you want them to get beats from them and thats the truth.

Man I remember the time when there was alot of West Coast influence in the South!  But you know what, the music was bangin because the artists were talented and putting effort into the music.  Suave House, Rap-Alot had alot of West Coast influence in they music but they did it right.  The game is just flooded now.  Talent isn't as prevalent in the commercial scene these days.  You just gotta let it do its thing and don't listen.  They'll get it eventually.

what you call sounding like the south, is just the new sound of the genre.

because there is no longer a coastal/regional war, listeners won't accept a regional sound.

It's not that i'mwantto hear quik or battle cat look at Jay Z or Nas they don't use south beat and i don't say don't use i tryin to say be urself and don't do the same shit that is already done ! i don't talk about war i talk about identity !  every rap sound the same on the same damn beat!! U can do some song on south beat to show u can ride on this type of beat but not an entire album or mixtape.(new west order most the beat sound south to me!)
I agree with u music is music but don't cry when westcoast don't shine . I didn't say i don't like music from the south but i don't like the fact that every body sound the same because they think the only way to the blow up it's to make a hit with formula south beat feat Tpain or Akon but it doesn't work for the west

since downsouth style was mostly stolen from the west coast . the south bit the west coast's style & mainly bit the bays style like too short . too short has to be the biggest influnce in the south's history

have y'all forgot. good music still sells. for example common's album sold more than snoop's shit. listen to eggo drippin' and you can tell why that album didn't sell. you can't deny good music.
