The Giants have obviously committed to the "youth movement" this year, and have already packed it in. This was no more evident than last Saturday against Arizona, pulling Lincecum after the 7th inning even though he had just struck out the side. They wanted to watch his pitch count, and handed the game to Tyler Walker, who blew it. As for Teixeira, they seem set on John Bowker being the first basemen for the long haul, so it's not a need position. The Angels are rolling, just beat the Yankees 12-6, and look unbeatable. I like the move to make them even tougher, but anything can happen in a 7-game series.
^^I'm happy with it as well, he has struggled lately, but we need the young guys to take their lumps and develop into what they could be. The team could definitely use more power, I wouldn't be surprised to see them look for a guy to play 3rd either this off-season or next who has some pop. Rowand isn't really a power hitter, but he can put it over the fence, Bowker will improve, and Lewis has a solid swing. If you put a nice power force in the middle of the lineup, it will open the hitting up.
