Report: Chisox swing deal for Griffey

SPORTSNET.CA – The Cincinnati Reds have traded Ken Griffey to the Chicago White Sox pending Griffey’s approval, Ken Rosenthal of Foxsports.com is reporting.

According to Rosenthal, Griffey will decide Thursday morning whether he will approve the deal. It is not known what the Reds would receive in return.

As a player with 10 years of major-league service and five with the same club has the right to block any deal.

The 38-year-old Griffey is batting .245 this season with a .355 on-base percentage, 15 home runs and 53 RBIs in 359 at-bats.

I guess he had to be moved because of the incident with his throat-slash to Jeff Brantley. I hope Griffey puts together nice numbers and helps the White Sox in the race. Brantley was a tool as a pitcher, ESPN commentator, and probably as an announcer to. Fuck that guy!!

^^Well, there are only a handful of teams better than the White Sox, and they probably didn't have the interest in Griffey. At least he is on a contending team, that is in 1st place right now. His whole time with the Reds has been tough to watch, they don't commit to winning.

Griffey is my personal all time favorite player.  I'm originally from Cincy, so when he came back I was so pumped.  Obviously he was injury ravaged because he went so hard in the field, damn shame because prior to coming to the Reds he was in the on his way to becoming the GOAT.

Sweetest swing ever, 10 outta 10 in the field.  Sad to see Griff leave Cincy, but I hope he has great success in Chicago.

Quentin, Konerko, Dye, Swisher and Griffey.

Griffey is gonna have to play CF Cuz Dye and Quentin are everyday guys in Left and Right. Konerko is struggling, so i can see why they did this...But Griffey aint played CF full time in like 2 years..

Griff deserves one more time in the post season.  Watch him have a resurgence.  He had a great debut last night.
