My biggest regret isn't taking the FDNY exam a few years back, now I have to wait until 2011 for the next test. Good luck with the job though.
I received a formal job offer last Friday from the So sick, you have one year probation and start with 3 weeks vacation, 18 sick days, a few lieu days, full benefits, a good pension plan, etc. And you work 91 days a year. Not to mention you can't ask for better job security, there are NEVER lay offs and you'd have to REALLY fuck up to get fired.I start with 12 weeks of recruit training one week today.
I don't get it, how is that possible ?

If you really want in just use the time to build up your resume, study for the test(s) and prepare for an interview.
