I Do All My Shit With Cool Edit Pro, And Cakewalk.

As For The Drums, Good Luck Recording Them... Don't Expect Anything High Quality, Like On Released Shit, Because They're Recorded With Several Mics, Then Mixed.

You May Have Luck With A Mic Standing Across The Room From The Drum Set Or Somethin', But If You Buy A Mic For The Computer, It's Only Gonna Pick Up The Noises Within A Foot Or Two Directly IN Front Of The Mic.  To Record Instruments Like Drums, it'd Be Better To Get A Multi-Directional Mic, With Farther Range, But Then THAT Mic Wouldn't Be Any Good For Vocals.  ARRRGGGHHH!

It's Kinda Expensive... I Would Suggest Learning To Sample, Or Use A Drum Machine For The Drums, Unless You Want To Use The Mic Just For Big Hitts, Like A Cymbal Splash, Or To Record A Snare Hit, Or Somethin'.

The Guitar Can Be Plugged In Straight Through The Soundcard (Just Like Overseer Said), But It Doesn't Sound As Good As If You Use An Amp, And Then Put The Mic In Front Of The Amp, And Have The Sound Go In Through The Mic Port Like That... That Way,You Can Use Effects BEFORE It Gets To The Computer (Distortion, Reverb (Use Reverb, It Usually Sounds Good), or Flangers, Wah Pedals, Etc.).

Vocals, You Should Add Reverb & Compression To After You Record Them.  All This Can Be Done In Cakewalk Or Cool Edit Pro, I'm Not Sure About Fruity Loops, But I'm Sure Sound Forge Can Do it Too (I'm Just Not Sure Sound Forge offers Multi-Tracking?)

I Always Have A Problem With Bass... Good Luck!  It's Hard Buying A Keyboard With GOOD Bass Sounds, So Usually You Have To Get A Nice Sound Card To Get Good Bass In The Music, Unless You Can Find A Dope Sample Somewhere You CAn Mess With Until It Sounds Like A Good Bassline.
