Ayo Drama! [In Regards To The Dogg Pound Mixtape]
« on: September 13, 2008, 12:12:05 PM »
Please, just shut the fuck up.

Tha Dogg Pound are some of my favorite artists, and I was excited to check out their first ever mixtape "Full Circle."  I'm two tracks in, and I'm about ready to turn that shit off.  It's not the music.  It's YOU DRAMA.  There's no reason for you to fucking TALK THROUGH the songs.  It's ridiculous.  You can't even hear the lyrics.  I fully understand the concept behind "Tagging" music to keep it as your exclusive.  As much as the people bitch about it on here, all the West Coast DJs (Warrior, Ill Will, Skee, Nik Bean) make it tolerable and don't ruin the music.  But when you just start talking shit about something no one gives a fuck about during your tapes, you're just clowning yourself.

NEWSFLASH:  NO ONE GIVES A FUCK WHAT A DJ HAS TO SAY WHEN THEY'RE TRYING TO LISTEN TO NEW MUSIC, EXCEPT MAYBE SOMETHING LIKE: "THIS IS MY SHIT RIGHT HERE."

Do you think I'm gonna bump this mixtape in my car, when EVERY TIME I LISTEN TO IT, I have to hear your ass talking the same shit?  Come on dude!!!!!!

If you wanna have a pointless conversation with yourself, then do a goddamn Youtube video.  You can share that with all the people who give a fuck.  Just don't do it over new Dogg Pound music.

The bottom line is, you're trying to move into the West Coast mixtape market.  You come in, and your first release is the Snoop Dogg project, which you destroyed as well by talking over it.  Now, you fuck up the Dogg Pound tape, and you're about to fuck up the Terrace Martin tape.  So, looking at it from a West Coast fan's perspective, you're pissing and shitting (by talking) on our opportunity to hear our favorite artists' and cool new artists (Terrace's) music.

FOR YOUR SAKE, don't do it.  It would be a good look for you to stop now, before everyone out here on the West completely gives up on your mixtapes.

I second that. My question is why are Snoop, DP and others even fuckin with him? They should know we don't like that shit. Maybe they're just trying to get some of drama's fans from the south, i dont know.

answered your own q!  ;)  no hate, it's a smart move - Drama is the biggest DJ in the south and as soon as anyone sees his name or Gangsta Grillz on the front cover, ppl are checkin' it out!

I would love to do a whole DPG mixtape. They hosted vol.3 in my WestCoast Toast Series and it was a hot mix of a couple of their songs with other notable westcoast artists I work with like Ice-T, Hav' 'N' Prod' and 40 Waddell. As for the talking all over the mixes I agree totally. That's why ever since Vol.1 back in '05 came out I never do that. Alls I do is hire voice talent to shout out the name of the mixtape or a your in tha hotmixx with Dj.Thirrzty etc; and place it over tha hottest songs or sponsored songs. I do add drops but there from the artist themselves and are blended with thier single at the start or end of their song and blended. Not saying what drama does is whack, I actually like a couple of his mixes, but the hottest dj's in tha south right now is Smallz and Chuck-T. Don't know where Empire is from or Tapemasters inc but dj's who shout all over the tracks should take notes from dj's like them like I did and do it the voice talent way. It's all about getting people excited and giving the crowd or the listener energy but I think it's way cool to hear a darth vader like EMPIREEEEE or it's the EMPIRREE over a rappers song every once in a while or a 31 degrees Forrrrcaaaast rather than dj.whatever aka slap ya favarite autotuner aka soulja boy movement aka iron jaw aka chris rock etc;.
