Mets took the season series against the Phils.  But with there lineup hitting like they should there is no way in hell the mets pen would get anyone out.

^^That's the truth..He is simply a big-game pitcher, the type of guy who has proven he can carry a pitching staff. There was a lot of hype saying he needed to get them the victory today, and he did. By the way, how funny is it that the 2 teams fighting for the wild card have both changed managers this year? Not usually the mark of a winning team, but the Mets had to do it to save the season while it was still early.
I got a bird's eye view

Official dubcc pity party for the mets and their fans!

Hey maybe we can have it at Shea stadium, there's definitely room there nowadays since nobody even wants to support their ass anymore.

I was at the game the place was more then half full I would say about 35,000 showed up. The first three innings the crowd was really into it more so then any other game I went to this season. But the first three innings leaving 7 on base really zapped the fans. But even later on in the game the fans really did try to get back in the game but every time we did they let us down. The final straw was when Heilman walked in that run. When he did that it was a mass exodus. I went into the game pretty emotional b/c it will be my last game at shea to leaving disgusted and wanting nothing to do with the team. The highlight of the night was before the game when they did the top 3 moments in Mets history and Seaver, Harrelson, Piazza, Hojo, and Strawberry came out. The place erupted when Piazza came out.

i dont know about that... we went 3-4 against em this season..and we only had furcal for one game against em..and we didnt have manny or even blake, when we played the mets.

our pitching is the best in the NL..and our hitting is doing all the right things right now.

im tellin ya, the dodgers are a very hot team right now, look for em to do some damage in october.

Santana making his case for the Cy.

And the Cubbies taking an early lead over the Brewers.  Good news for the Mets.

This is EXACTLY like last season.  On game 161 last season John Maine pitched the game of his life throwing 7 2/3's no hit baseball in a must win game.  In game 162 against the Marlins Tommy Tampon Glavine pitched and he is a lefty.  Tomorrow Oliver Perez is pitching on short rest and he is a lefty.  The ultimate punch to the gut is coming tomorrow I already know it.
