I got me G5 mac..it works really with art and creative stuff like music. That's what Mac people always say, and it indedd does do that stuff well, but frankly I don't know of any task you couldn't do equally well on a Windows or Linux based PC (Linux having some obvious software limitations, though). As long as the hardware is up to it, the OS doesn't really matter in the end.Os is important when doing programs..however, there are lot of amatures who thinks they know what they getting themselves into when they get mac... as long as they know what they intend to get then it's all good. mac is a powerhouse. I guess windows got some, however I'm bias against windows when it comes to music program and graphic designing. oh well...

How much more powerful depends on the task, but difference isn't very big. But, again, in the end it's pretty much down to user preference. I've used Windows more so I like it more, my brother is the opposite. But since you mentioned graphic design - I really hate using Photoshop (my bitmap editor of choice) on a Mac cause of one thing: In Windows Photoshop with all its tools and panels is rendered in its own window with a grey background. On a Mac the tools and panels are placed straight on the desktop, with the background visible. It's just personal preference again, but I find it distracting having another image visible all the time while working on another. And it can affect your "eye", 'cause certain colors might not look as appealing in contrast with your desktop background as they would on their own. If I want to see how an image works with another, I open those in Photoshop together, but I certainly don't want to see my desktop background all the time when doing graphics. Adriana Lima's and Eva Mendez' curves would demand all my attention. But ultimately - I've done Photoshop stuff, Flash stuff, video editing stuff and 3D stuff on both Windows and OS X and there's really no practical difference in the end. Some quick-key command issues for me personally, but nothing serious.Music and audio software I can't really comment on - not my forté...
