Christian churches now suggesting Obama is anti-Christ

Don't even get me started on Palin. Anytime she opens her mouth (which they keep to a minimum nowadays), she is trying to incite a religious war. Pitting Islamic "extremists" against US soldiers who are fighting "God's war". Unbelievable.

That has nothing to do with this thread, because Christians are majority religion in this country and their prejudices can sway an election... as opposed to Muslims who are only 2% of the American population and are not in influential positions (as are the Jews).
As for your claim that Muslims are no better... I don't follow Muslim scholarship when it comes to a political and economic system. Since trying to live in a Muslim country (Emirates and Oman) in early 2007, I've had to re-evaluate all of my previous life's thinking. I'm now a student of Harry Browne's Libertarian philosophy's on the individualists life, personal liberty, and small government.
And even in my days as a Muslim proselytizer here at the forum, you can never say you read one post from me spreading myths about the day of judgement. And trust me, I've heard plenty of them in my days as a Muslim and I never was down with that type of stuff.

What happened over there, or what did you see, that made you switch to conservative, or libertarian?
Because with me it was actually my Christianity believe it or not. For years the whole Jesus was a socialist jargon rang true to my ears. I believed that socialism was the way Jesus lived and wanted us to live, and it is correct in a sense, but something was off. Jesus wouldn't force people to share what they had. You could join his congregation and everything would have been shared but you could just as easily not join and continue living your life as is. You can't do that in a socialist state. You have to contribute and share or you have to leave the country and change your life completely.
I can't just say this year that I'm not going to pay taxes because I don't feel like it. I'd be reprimanded. I can join a church if I like. I am currently in a Greek Orthodox Church (and always have been). And I can decide each week whether I want to donate money or not donate money and I can still belong to the church no matter which I choose. I don't have that luxury with regards to the Ontario health system, or Ontario housing projects, etc.
The bottom line is that Christianity teaches that God gave us morality and tells us how we should live but before that he gave us freedom and that freedom takes precedence over any gray area morality we think Jesus might want us to follow.
Obviously black and white morality exists and at times safety can trump freedom when needed. We'd be foolish to allow murderers to murder because God gave the freedom to do so and we must respect that. But giving money to those in need isn't a right and wrong issue. It's an issue of kindness, and too much kindness can be a bad thing;
I use the hypothetical example of my parents giving me 300 a week just for being their son. I live at home, I don't have bills to pay or kids to support and 300 dollars a week would be more than enough to sustain a life of small luxury. I could go out every weekend, and buy nice things. But it wouldn't teach me how to survive or prepare me for the future. When the day comes that my parents either die or retire and can't pay me anymore I'd have lived a life of inexperience and would have no idea how to support myself or create a life of my own. They would have done me a greater favor by kicking me out of the house at 18 and making me struggle while I was hungry than by stuffing me to the point where I'm fat and lazy at 35 or 40 and be kicked in the face by reality. In that case what was nice and kind was worse for me than what would have been mean and cruel.
That is welfare in my eyes. A system created to keep people from making lives for themselves. The government gives them a enough to survive but never enough to strive and it'd be better to give them no welfare.
Welfare is just one aspect though. Long story short; I came to the conclusion that Jesus was a Libertarian. He said it was ideal to help people when you can but never forced you to do it. And anyone that wears a shirt that says "Jesus Was a Socialist" (I've seen them), and thinks he would stay a socialist after seeing the long term affects of socialism, should buy a shirt that says "Jesus Was a Moron", because that what he'd have to be to continue to support a system like that.

Well these Christians are scared that their way of life is coming to an end (not because most of their teachings were based on myth and force in the first place and ultimately people would move away from it)... but instead they fall upon all these day of judgement myths, here are a few I have heard from them recently...
-That a sign of the day of judgement for Christians has something to do with a blue turban so they put out all those images of Obama when he wore a blue turban on visit to East Africa......lolololololololololololol!
-That the weakening dollar is prophecy because the anti-Christ wants to implement a global currency.
-thing about a chip in everybody's arm
-thing about mark of the beast
-thing about jews taking over greater Israel
...and so on.
