Who should win the NL CY Young

Tim Lincecum - Leads the NL in K's.  2nd in ERA and 10th in WHIP.  Seventeen wins and plays for a team that offers no run support.  Leads the league in batting average against.  Leads the league in K's per 9 innings.  Is only 23 years old.  Still has one game left to improve on what he has done this season.

The case against... he plays for the Giants and no one knows the Giants exist anymore.  He only has 17 wins.


Johan Santana - Leads the NL in ERA and is 5th in WHIP.  He is tied for 2nd in K's.  Leads the NL in quality starts.  Opp BBA is .232.  Is pitching pressure filled NY and with his teams season on the line pitched a complete game shut out on short rest with season on the line.  Hasn't lost a game since June.  The bullpen has blown 7 games for him.

Case against.... only has 16 wins.

Brandon Webb - Leads the league in Wins.  Ninth in ERA.  Eleventh in WHIP.  The league is hitting .243 against him.  Has one start left to go for Major League leading win number 23

Case against... Besides wins Santana and Lincecum have better lines.  In the middle of the pennant chase he shit the bed three starts in a row.


Can we keep this civilized and leave out name calling ?

This is a two horse race in my mind and I'm not even sure yet.  I guess I'll decide after Lincecum's last start.
If I HAD to decide right now I'll say it's Santana by a cunt hair.

seriously tho...its too close to call.  i honestly think that CC, Lincy, Santana, and Webb deserve the award...it all depends on what the voters like.  do they like wins? if so, Webb has it.  do they like CG? if so, CC has it.  do they like strikeouts? if so Lincy has.  do they like ERA? if so, Santana has it.

Timmy sure ended the season on a high note,  7 innings with only 1ER and 13 K'S!   If we hold on to the win he will be 18-5,  he has the best winning percentage in the NL, The Most strikeouts by far with over 260 :o :o  His ERA is a cunt hair behind Santana's but they are SO close,  give the Cy Young to Timmy!!!  He deserves it, if he had average run support and just a decent bullpen he would have around 24 or 25 wins,  Lincecum for Cy Young!!

If the award was Most Valuable Pitcher then maybe but this award is the Cy Young award and it is supposed to go to the NL pitcher who has been the best pitcher all year
