which westcoast artists should i check??

Meh, G. Malone has a lot of good stuff IMO, but also some not so good stuff. Bishop Lamont is hit or miss, usually miss. Other than that you should check out Mr. Capone-E, Crooked I and Mr. Criminal. They are consistent rappers. Mike Ant is a good singer, but he unfortunately works with mostly garbage artists.

When you ask questions like this on this forum, you always get to hear Crooked, Ya Boy, Malone, Bishop, Cruz etc. =always the same cats. But none of them will ever blow up, and most of them are average or wack. Or they release mixtapes where they "freestyle" over beats from classic albums like 2001 for the rest of their life instead of creating some own music. (who could it be?- a little hint- his name begins with Crook and ends with I)
Let's be real: who of them wannabe New West rappers has released a good album to this day (if you exclude Game)? Nobody. All they can offer is max. one or two good mixtapes.
So my answer to your question is: I don't know. On the westcoast, there is no (younger) artist you necessarily have to look out for.

I dont get shit like this, what do you care if an artist 'blows up' or not?? Do you like an artist because he's a good artist, or because lots of little 14 year old girls like him??? Dont get me wrong, Im a Crooked I fan, and Id love to see him 'blow up' and make some real money, it would be great for him... BUT, I dont think thatll ever happen, but that doesnt make me like him less or anything, even though the commercial world wont recognize him, hes still one of the best MC's to ever grab the mic...
