^Thats a selfish approach but I guess it is partially based on some truths.. However the right to vote is an American luxury that was fought for and isn't available in a lot of societies.

As for voting in this election, I'm going with Obama. Who else is there?

I appreciate the "right" to vote.. I just think it really doesnt matter.. the results will be the same whether I vote or not.. btw I am very politically uninformed since I dont get into politics at all.. I wouldnt even know where to begin. ???

i guess you can only blame yourself for being an illetrate ignant motahfucka

Would you be more inclined to vote if election day was a national holiday, if you were forced to show up at the voting booth, or would you still not even care to vote?

I dont like voting.....with the Electoral College and all. But it would be Obama without a doubt.

Would you rather see it be switched to a direct popular vote?  I would hate for that to happen.  Instead of having swing states, we will be seeing swing metropolitan cities.  IMO, that would be even more unfair to the people that don't live in large cities.

it could be unfair for people in small towns because politicians wont cater to their needs as much as the needs of larger cities. But it would be far more fair in deciding a President. There are tons of people like myself who dont vote because they know that Obama winning by 1 million votes in California, or winning by 1,000.....makes no difference in the outcome of the election.  And to be completely honest, areas where there a large amounts of people will always (and should be) be more of a focal point.

That's also an easy advantage for the people that have the most amount of money.  It's an easier victory for any Democrat if it concentrates on cities.  I would rather see a Democrat earn that victory.  People from California aren't directly making a difference, but believe it if Obama were to start slipping, even people in California would start tripping.  The fact that he's up in the polls in California, by a very large margin shows that people in California are happy with how he's running his campaign.  Our voice is still heard in this current electoral college system.

First off, polls are ridiculous and should probably been done away with themselves. Americans already have proven themselves to be sheep at times. It doesnt help for people to see who's winning before they vote. You get people who go with the popular pick. In this election, what Im afraid of is...youre going to get a lot of people who will see that the closer we get to election day...the more real the thought of a Black President will be, and the more youll get this flood of Southern, rural, rednecks running to the booths to get their anti-Black vote in on the ballot.

If its easier for Democrats to win large cities....so be it. One person, one vote...thats the only way its fair. If Republicans cant win over votes in Major cities, maybe its time to re-examine their beliefs.

Or if you really want to make things fair, get rid of parties all-together. The election should be Obama vs Mccain. Not the Democrat vs the Republican. How many Republicans do you think get their facts from Rush Limbaugh simply because he says what they want to hear?

I agree with you that polls are bad because that has an influence on voting, but so does everything.  It's impossible to have a fair vote without poll, media, and religious influence.  Sit a person down and ask them to compare platforms of all the candidates with all influence removed...you'll see a whole lot of more votes for third party candidates.  Too bad that the Democrats and Republicans are so power hungry that we can't have more voices in elections.

Nader is more of a liberal than Obama, he's also anti corporation basically I guess.  Bob Barr is basically a conservative without all the religious tone.  You hardly hear from these guys because Republicans and Democrats don't want to lose power, so they basically have a monopoly on politics.  A third party voice is only heard when A. something extreme happens or B. there is an injustice to big that Democrats or Republicans start stealing platform ideas from people like Nader, Barr, etc
