could someone explain to me why anyone would vote for mc cain???

Credit is given where credit is due. Yeah, its good that there are so many people who are willing to vote for Obama even though they are white. But for someone like yourself (particularly seeing as how you live in Germany) to pretend as if race has not, and is not still a huge issue in this country is fuckin retarded. Youre so quick to accept generalizations about others, but as soon as there is a generalization about white people being racist, you fight it to the death lol. All white people are not racist, obviously...or none of them would vote for him. But there are still a HUGE amount of white people who will vote against him because he IS Black. What I wonder is why you dont give credit to Obama for making this far, rather then giving credit to white people for allowing him to get this far.

Obama is given credit left and right, wherever I look. I'm the type of person who doesn't feel the necessity of giving something or someone credit publically, if the entity is already recognized properly. Like Jared Taylor said, white racists don't hurt Obama, as those people who never vote for a Democrat anyway. In fact, I think that rednecks, hicks and other openly ignorant, fairly stupid whites help Obama. When you hear news about what some backwards white guy in the crowd said during a McCain event, you want to be different. I can tell you, there's not a too small fraction of whites who are voting for Obama for the sole reason of not being seen as being like that. So in conclusion, it is flat out wrong to blame any possible failure of Obama on white racists from that point on.

Ok, again. Youre not here. Point blank. What percentage of White people would you say wont vote for a Black man? A hard thing to figure out, but even harder to figure out from Germany. Black people make up a very small percentage of this country. The amount of White people (some hispanics included) who will vote against Obama due to race very much outweighs the amount of Black people who will vote for him due to race. Youre talking what, 1 out of every 10 White or Hispanic voters having an issue with a Black President being enough to counteract any Black votes for Obama (even the ones who are voting strictly on the issues). Sounds pretty likely. So to assume that voting wont be influenced by peoples desire to not have a Black President is completely ignorant. Im not saying he wont win, but if he does...it will be with the odds stacked against him more then any other candidate in history. He will be battling the rich, Christian fanatics, and racism.

Not a bad point, except people don't watch you as you actually vote. People look at who you say you're gonna vote for. Obviously that's nothing to do with KKK rednecks who either vote Republican or don't vote at all and prefer spending their time dreaming of the fascist revolution. It's about people who don't want to be labelled racist, claim not to be racist, but are actually racist to that very limited extent which might still make them side with the white guy when it comes down to it and no one's watching. I'm not saying this is gonna be the no. 1 decisive factor tomorrow, but it might not be entirely irrelevant in, say, North Carolina.

Bradley effect. The polls are always completely misleading. People are never honest. I work in sales, and the white dude that works with me always complains about white people. "theyre the only people who wont just be honest and tell you they dont like something. They always pretend like they like what you have, and then make up an excuse why they wont buy it....rather then just being honest and saying no." The people responding to the polls will more then likely do the same thing.

Why do you choose to ignore what I say, then quote me regardless just to tell what has already been said, combined with the irrelevant fact that I'm not American? Does that get you anywhere? I'm not saying that just blacks vote for Obama because of his color. It can also be a reason for whites to do so, and I gave an effort to make that thesis clear to anybody. I also made clear why outright racists don't matter. Yet you choose to ignore all that and more entirely. I feel quite insulted.
