Regardless of where Manny goes he will smash the cover off the ball until he is 60 years old.  But I think the Yanks would be makin a mistake going after Manny.  That just me, I personally think the Yanks should just accept the fact that the only way they will become great again is to have a couple of bad years and make the team young again instead of signing as many big name free agents as possible.

The Yanks don't need to do anything, regardless of how bad the Yanks play that Stadium will be sold out for the next couple of seasons b/c everyone will want to check it out, same situation with the Mets.  A lot of Met fans are worried moves wont be made this off season b/c the Wilpons know the stadium will be sold out every game b/c people want to check it out.  But back to the Yanks this might the perfect time for the Yanks to revert to the early and mid 90's when they built the team the right way.  The Yankees organization needs to ask themselves do they want to throw money at big name free agents and have a team that will win 85-95 games a season but fall short or sacrifice a couple of seasons to build a team for the long haul.

THats in a dream world lol... I understand what you're saying and I agree...but the Yankee thinking has changed. I think CC and Tex are at the top...Dont know if they really want to go after Manny(in most stories you dont seem them that interrested)...I hope they do.

the Yankees will never admit to having to allowing themselves to rebuild. its just not the Yankee way. this season a lot of big names are on the market. i would imagine were going to be offering deals to plenty of these names.

Nah friday in all the NY papers they reported Hank saying pitching is the Yanks number 1 priority but they will definitely take a look at Manny.

They did it in the early90's but thats when George Steinbrenner was suspended from baseball.  And plus it wouldn't be a full fledged rebuilding project.  It would be a couple of years to play around .500 baseball.

also, peavy aint a FA, but i believe he will be one of two big moves the dodgers make this off season..we definitely got the  farm and type of players they want...the other move being manny. 8)

resign furcal, maybe pick up pennys option...and get a 3B or a 2B with good fielding abilities and a decent bat, bring back a few of our bullpen pitchers, maybe try and sign another RP, and were pretty much golden.

maybe..but if we dont sign him, were going to need another big bat...the only other BIG bat is tex..and i dont see the dodgers signing anyone for 10 years, or 7 years, or whatever has been rumored that he wants.

if we dont go for a bat, were gonna need to sign an ace, and possible still trade for peavy.   Peavy, Sabathia/Sheets, Billingsley, Kuroda and Kershaw is WOOOW.  but then our lineup is meh.
