Yeah dude is a beast. I cared more about trading him than Crittenton. But if it meant getting Pau then so be it.

I followed dude all last year when he was still playing in Europe. They said he's like a tougher more physical version of Pau. In other words he's a true center where as because of Pau's finesse he's better suited to play at the 4.

I know Marc Gasol very well. Shit i remember Dejan Bodiroga (basketball fans from Europe knows him for sure, he's a legend here) saying on tv "Marc Gasol is really a beast. If he can loose some kg's he'll be as good as his brother". When he said it i smiled. To be honest everybody in Europe smiled. Marc was added to Barcelona's roster just because he was Pau's brother. He was nothing special, he averaged like 2-3 points, 3-4 rebounds. And he was too slow. Then all of a sudden he started to increase, to add muscles, to be in perfect shape, to work on defence, to work on his free throws, to add some nice post moves.. And now.. well.. now he's the "beast" Dejan Bodiroga predicted he would be. I'm speechless. He was really nothing special. So big props to him, to Dejan and to............... Mitch for drafting him.

I've read an interview where he said he was really questioning Pau's trade because Memphis wanted both Marc and Sun (the chinese rookie), AND Crittenton. And he really thought those 3 players were good players. He discussed and he obtained Memphis to only get Crittenton and Marc. Unfortunately he didn't trade Sun Yae instead of him. But he knew Marc was going to be a pretty good NBA player.
