i think there's simple that dre is known for and then there's just plain SIMPLE thats even more simple and stripped down because shit hasn't been worked on so much. regardless dre's mix is always completely 100. the drums and bass on this track knock hard. why can't other producers make a simple drum loop sound so clean and crisp. is it really that hard?

its up to the artist to bring dre beats to life. just check out "kill you" by eminem. beats pretty simple but marshall kills it
