Eminem has confirmed that his sixth studio album Relapse won’t arrive until next year, according to reports.

It had previously been reported that Relapse would hit stores before the end of the year, but the 36-year-old MC told MTV that his first LP since 2004’s Encore is now scheduled for a January or February 2009 release.

Em is currently in the studio with Dr. Dre in Detroit. He has recorded around 100 songs over the last couple years.

“We’re real close right now,” he told Carson Daly on MTV’s “Total Live Finale” on Sunday.
