Question about the track "Smoke" Kurupt, Snoop & The Relativez
« on: December 05, 2008, 12:55:10 PM »
iv had the Dogg Pound 2002 since it came out in 2001 and iv always loved this song. Smooth ass beat, great to roll and smoke too, Kurupt the Kingpin tears it up, Snoop flows his ass off, obviously from their prime Death Row days. The booklet says it was produced by Cold 187 and Darren Vegas, which were in house producers on Death Row at that time, but does anyone know anything about the original version of the song? Like who it featured, who produced it and what it was originally meant for? also my other question is it says featuring the Relativez but i can only pick out Suga Buga, the other guy doesnt sound like Big Wy, anyone knows who it is? He says in his verse hes from "Salty the 619"

I'm pretty sure that's Nuttz, some dude who used to fuck with The Relativez very frequently back then. I'm pretty sure he was on "This Is The Thanks You Get" from The Relativez on Too Gangsta For Radio as well. I don't know anything about him though.

dogg i luv this trak 1 of my fave kurupts traks off all time, i wish the interviewers would ask kurupt about this question. imo opinion this is a remix with kurupt verse put init, and its definetly nuttz on the trak, big wy is not on it. im guessing its a lbc crew track or a snoop dogg trak.

who do u think produced the beat? i think its dr.dre, cant imagine who else it could be. if it was big hutch and darren vegas then major props to them cuz thats 1 of the best beats ever made. kurupts verse is sick as fuck.

this was my 3rd album that i bought, although its a compilation, this album has come closest to dogg food.

im gunna guess and say the Kurupt/Snoop verse is from 95, i also want to beleive the beat was made by Cold 187 and Vegas. OG could have been Daz, i doubt Dre.. if it was Dre it sounds like a 2001 era beat. but no doubt its classic track whoever did it

I love this track I bump it regularly.kurupt murders his verse and snoop well I wish he still flowed like this even the relativez came with it.one of the smoothest beats I've ever heard
