Uninspired music

Listening to the radio, I will say that 2008 was a fairly good year for Hip-Hop. Lil' Wayne, hate him or love, actually put out some hot music. Nas's Untitled and Ice Cube's Raw Footage were great albums that proved the vets still had it, and there were some new artist that came out this year that had some great music on the radio.

But there is another side of the radio that just puts out uninspired, formula music that basically says, if artist A sells, and artist B puts out great hooks, and producer C makes bangers, then you put them together and you get a hit, A+B+C=$. These songs I'm sick and tired of, I want something new. There are some songs that come to mind, the first is Smack That by Akon and Eminem, and Follow My Lead by 50 Cent and Robin Thick. I think Robin killed it, but 50 just seemed so... whatever, that it killed the song.

What are some songs you feel that the artist in it just didn't put much into it, other than get this guy on the beat and this guy on the hook and put it out? And don't say everything out today, that's just as lazy as the artist... lol.

Nas was a major example of uninspired music. He's one of my favorite rappers so I would like to believe that he didn't give untitles his all because it amounted to cookie cutter dead prez rip off music. As for all the other crap on the radio, what do you want? Ghetto people are by and large stupid and will eat up anything packaged correctly for them. They don't want to hear some backpacker guy reciting poetry over a depressing beat, they want to forget their troubles and go party their ass off. That's just how it is now, it ain't the nineties. Maybe it will change in the next decade or two we'll see, but for now it is what it is.
