You crack me up. Hamas wants "peace" about as much as Ellen DeGeneres wants dick.
I know full well that Israel's attack on Hamas now is hardly "defensive" in the sense that they're claiming. An attack like this was inevitable regardless of what Hamas did or didn't do. But acting as if Hamas really deserves anyone's sympathy is ridiculous. Shit, even if Hamas DID say they'd be OK with a real peace solution, you know what? I still could care less. The simple fact is that we all know what kind of state Hamas wants to set up in the Palestinian territories - another Arab Islamist autocracy, and we really don't need any more of those in the Middle East.

Uhm, you may have your speculations as to the kind of state they wanna set up, however my point was not to try and predict the kind of state they're gonna have.I also did not say a word as to who does or does not deserve sympathy. The point was that Hamas is being attacked BECAUSE they were looking for a diplomatic resolution on the 1967 borders. Namely, the Israeli government did not wanna give up the west bank. Had they (Israeli ruling elite) not encouraged Hamas to resort to rocket launching on the fourth of november, they would have to explain to the world why they're not talking to Hamas.

Ah come on lets be serious, people attack Iran because of it's police state and i am not arguing that point but you know the CIA doesn't want democracy in arab countries at least not real democracy they want dictators who they can control and in turn can retain a stranglehold on the population of that country. It's not about ensuring stability and moderation, Mosadeq was no extremist now was he but it didn't stop a coup against him. You also know that in Iraq for instance this certainly was not about stability, I don't what he did to piss them off but he must have done something. I have read that he was promising to flood the word the world with oil but i never substantiated that.
