I couldn't believe my eyes.the original CD with the death row logo.they had two copies and I got them for a buck each and gave one to a friend.

I can't remember the story behind this.its not officialy listed in the death row catalogue.did they only press up a few copies or something?anybody know the story?

They pressed it up and it was ready for release, but they pulled it last minute. A few countries overseas still released it for whatever reasons.

I'm curious to see the story of these cds made their way to a dollar store in Vancouver

I have a copy still wrapped (I got it in Vancouver).  The album was out in Canada for a day or so before most stores got word of it being pulled.  The back of the CD will say something like, "Manufactured and distributed in Canada by Universal Music".

The DR-release was all over the place a couple of years ago... I think some crates all of a sudden popped up in an ebay-sellers warehouse, because after years of searching for it, I found it for $7-8 at all the places like ebay, secondspind, musicgemm etc.

The Vol 1  & 2 version is much rarer these days...

Yeah i got the double disc edition too but no Dr logo on it !!!  >:(

That's because the 2-disc version wasn't released by Death Row,,, It was released on Breakaway in '98.

G Funk Classics Vol 1 (basically disc 1 from the 2-disc allbum) was released for a very short period by DR in '97... I have no idea why it got shelved/called back.

I bought it of Ebay for about £8 inc shipping about 2 and a half years ago, up until then never even knew it was released
