if they are on concrete, the trick is to chase them off and then wet the concrete
as it dries the ground will get cold and they wont come back.

LMAO, i had the exact same thing happen to me about 3 years ago. kept me awake for an hour or so before i shouted "fuck off!!" out of my window.
