HBO/Penguin Books Move To Block Release of MurderCap Records CD “The Border/Generation Kill”

Canadian Broadcast Company Weighs Its Options With Threat Of Court Injunction Over January 29th Release Date As Controversy Surrounding Label Grows

MurderCap Records CEO Jerome Almon has been informed that television and publishing powerhouses HBO and Penguin books will seek to block the release of the label’s upcoming CD “The Border/Generation Kill” due to its title and content.

The entertainment and publishing giants have concerns about the title, content, and cover art infringing on their mini series and book of a similar name written by Rolling Stone magazine’s Evan Wright.

Concerns were also expressed about the violence and sexually charged material contained in the CD based on its song titles. Canada’s largest network, the Canadian Broadcast Company is weighing its options concerning the matter due the similarity of the CD’s title and its show “The Border” –labeled the dirtiest show on television both critics and fans alike.

In strongly worded correspondence from the legal department of the media giants, Mr. Almon is warned not to release the CD under its current name or with its current content and cover art under threat of a legal injunction. In an equally strongly worded response, the rap mogul made it crystal clear that the CD will drop on its scheduled release date “with no changes to title, art, or content.”

The CD is a gritty urban drama set in the streets of Detroit, the Murder Capital, and the media storm that engulfed the label as it was banned out of Canada for being “too gangsta” and “audio porn” by the Canadian Parliament. This resulted in the MurderCap Records CEO filing a $900 million lawsuit in U. S. Federal Court against the Canadian government and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

I don't know what the content of this album is but I garauntee I can into plenty music or video store in Toronto and find the same kind of content. Canada, CRTC, whatever, consider banning everything that comes across their desk. It never ends up happening. It's just away to spend more tax dollars. If Mudercap wants to ensure it's release and widespread praise of the album on CBC they should keep all the questionable content in place but change the main character into a straight man to undergoes a sex change to become a bisexual woman and has a child with both a man and a women. The CBC would call it a groundbreaking masterpiece.
