Doggfather = No 2pac ???
« on: January 22, 2009, 01:10:08 AM »
I was just curious the other day cause i was chillin and chatin wit a homie bout Snoop's Doggfather album etc....i know he was going through the whole case during that time but did anyone ever ask them selves why Suge didnt put any Pac on any of the tracks, apart from the outro....i mean they had so much material as today shows clearly cause Pac still droppin albums and then u had Daz have Pac on his shit....i wonder why they didnt put Pac on any of the songs....IMO it is an album i think Snoop would like to forget with alot a fans but i dont mind it cause Pooh was the shit wit production....anyway yall think that no Dre & No Pac made this album what it was & is Suge to blame being the exec........IMO DR never released shit that had poor production or raps but in Doggfather he let Snoop's flow fall off

Just a thought i had cross my mind i wanted to ask fans world wide??? damn i paid $45 for that CD when it dropped in the US and thats alot a cash for that era........

I don't think Suge gave a fuck about Snoops flow as long as the cash kept flowing.  When Dre left, Snoop didn't have a mentor to tell him what to do and what about The D.O.C, was he still on Death Row when Dre left? These 3 were tight packet in the studio, at least so I have understood it.

I remember Snoop saying something like Dre made him do his verses many times over on TBCT.

Yup. They had a falling out a couple weeks or maybe less before Pac died. It started because Snoop was on the radio and said he was open to collaborate with Biggie. Pac took this personally because not only was Snoop not riding for him, he was willing to work with his enemy. I remember Pac talking about it in an interview and he also mentions being around when Dogg Poiund's trailer got shot up in that interview. Tried to find it but I couldn't.

well i know Suge was also a main factor on how cats were rappin etc on they tracks from what ive read & seen in the past....yall think Suge was cashing in on Pac that Snoop didnt seem to be a number 1 priority wit out Dre there ?? cause everytime u heard Dre u heard Snoop cause they went hand in hand and i remember wishing the duo would hook back up and then No Limit Top Dogg came out and i was like CHEA!

Yeah, I think that was actually Snoop who told that story. Both Snoop and the Outlawz have talked about them falling out, but also that 2pac took it too far and realized it. That when he recorded MAkaveli and gave a shout out to "Snoop Dogg the motherfuckin' Doggfather" all the Outlawz were real surprised he did that at the time considering the tension between them.

Snoop's said pretty consistently that he has no interest in putting out old records he did with Pac, and I think at the time he didn't want to capitalize on his death. He dedicated a page in the booklet to 2pac and threw that little outtro on there but clearly he didn't want to put the music out; there was no shortage of it and it was quality so probably just he feelings. Snoop seems like a stand up guy like that.

You mean the radio rip right? Nah, since then it has been a couple of versions available in nice quality and Phonkey Dee made a pretty good remaster on one of his 2Pac tapes...
