Big Pun - Capital Punishment
« on: January 27, 2009, 08:46:59 PM »
I broke this album after Jrome posted Boomerang as his classic track.  It's been a minute since I listened to this album.  I almost forgot how dope this album.  This shit is an east coast classic.  It still boggles my mind that a guy that weighed 2045 pounds spit this like it was nothing... I can't even spit that while reading the lyrics lol

Dead in the middle of Little Italy little did we know
that we riddled some middleman who didn't do diddily

Yeah that album really grew on me with time.  I find him a little like e 40 that way.  I find more and more things in the songs after repeated listenings

I see it as a Hip Hop classic. Lyrically the shit is head and shoulders above a lot of shit. I used to listen to this album smoked out all the time and just listen to Pun flow. Those big gasps of air always tripped me out though haha.

Are you brain dead?  I didn't say there were on the same level lyrically, I said it took me a few listens to catch some of his flows, just like with e 40 but for a different reason.  So keep it moving moron.
