me and my boys debated this for 2 hours today. and I came to conclusion that LA and all incorporating areas around it would never accept an expansion team.

1. the market already has alliance to the Raiders/Rams/49ers/ other
2. LA is a title town use to rich legacies and history. you simply can't create a new team in an established league and tell the fans "here's your new God" and expect them to follow
3. It would be a slap in the face to the fans still bitter about the departures of the Raiders and Rams, to lose both at the same time and get some mediocre expansion team would be no compensation for them.


so i say no, unless the Raiders came back.. and to a lessor extent the rams.

You are a Raider biased. I think most Latinos would only want the Raiders, but others would never want that at all. I think that only an expansion would work. Unless it's the Dallas Cowboys (yeah right) then LA would only take an expansion. For every Raider fan, there are tons of Raider haters.

L.A. Would Embrace a New Team. I know for a fact people have city loyalty before team loyalty. Even if your a Raider fan, its going to be hard rooting against Any New L.A. Team (Rumors are Minnesota or Jacksonville are looking for new places and Ed Roski has been to both to talk about a move maybe as soon as this upcoming season!)

Look at when the Clippers went to the West Semi Finals in '07, where did all the clipper fans come from?!? All of a sudden The Clippers were the City Favorites when the Lakers were bounced out. Same thing will happen with Football. Plus L.A. Loves its sports.

With all three teams stinking it up in recent years, I'd say the time is right to put a team in in L.A. Especially with the newer generation growing up without the Raiders or Rams in L.A. I doubt an expansion team would be setup. The NFL already has an even 32 teams, 16 teams a conference, 4 teams a division. If a team in L.A. happens it'll probably be a relocation. I think the jags would be a good team to move.

I think eventually they would, but the love affair would die quick if the team didn't become a winner. There's enough fans to go around, look how big of a splash USC football makes throughout LA. As mentioned, the time since the teams left and the current records of the other California teams would make this a good time to do it, although I'm sure the economic situation is worrisome, so it would most likely be a relocation. On that note, why not the Vikings, their NBA team departed to LA a long time ago, maybe history will repeat itself.

I was actually being serious...a lot of football fans out here, but they dont have as much passion for their teams because theres no city love. not to say Lakers and Dodgers aint good enough, but LA is too huge a city not to have a team of a sport considered #1 amongst a good portion of Americans.

You & your boys haven't lived here long then.  An expansion team was what everyone wanted.  No more transplants.  I don't care if 95% of people living in so cal were nothing but transplants, foreigners & illegals who act like there's no other state to move to.  A new slate, something we can call our own.  New stadium even.  Expansion team or no team.  But oh no, Coliseum people ruined that.  And Houston who didn't deserve another NFL team, let alone an expansion team stuck their nose where they didn't belong got it   An expansion team woulda gotten ex Rams & Raider fans 2gether like the Mets did for ex Dodger & Giant fans angered over the move to California.

So many things 2 say on this & what others said on here.  People in so cal shouldn't be Rams fans anymore anyway especially when the love child of Tammy Faye Baker[rip] & Betty White took a cheap shot at the loyal so cal Ram fans cause they wanted her 2 sell the team or GTFO so cal. 

I wanted 2 get to something else in this forum.  Keep it short as possible now, EXPANSION TEAM OR NO TEAM!  We didn't get it so fuck having another team in L.A. Besides, repeat after me L.A. DOES NOT DESERVE ANOTHER NFL TEAM!  They did but not anymore.  I wish Fraudger Goodell, these idiots on Around the Horn & everyone else would get that.  I wish Goodell would make an announcement that they would not get another team.  Who wouldn't prefer 3 day games a week
