Film Scripts

i was thinking of writing one, any starter tips?

Is this your first time? if it is, I suggest writing a short or two, slowly building it up from there. But here are some tips.


1- Get a story, structure it.
2- A beginning, middle, and ending (most important!).
3- Make sure the dialogue is realistic, how? by reading it out loud AS you type it.
4- Try your best to write it in a script format, get final draft (Get a copy for like 10 bucks) or download that shit.
5- Try to be as original as possible, as far as characters go, and their actions.
6- As you write, you're brain will automatically brainstorm ideas, write them down, and IGNORE them until you're done with the script you're writing.
7- Don't try to put in big words, Keep it simple.

Final Draft 7.0, it's the industry standard for script formatting, it has templates also for you to check out.
