I like to either get with the times or either create a brand new time. And I’m not one to follow so if my kids are playing what’s hot, I try to figure out what it is about that that’s hot and try to stay in their wavelength to where they won’t feel like their dad is dated. You know, it’s hard trying to impress your kids but when I get them liking my shit it’s like everybody’s gonna like it. That’s like my advantage over everybody else, I deal with a lot of kids. And a lot of artists don’t deal with kids so they don’t know that the basic fan is the kids. So they busy trying to make a record for the ladies and the adults but they not knowing that if you get the kids, you get everybody.

All these rappers are trying to make music for the kids, forgetting about the people who made hip hop what it became during the 80s and 90s. We still like hip hop, we still listen to our 90s music. But you aren't making music for us anymore, so we aren't buying it. And you really think by making music for the kids you are buying their loyalty? They will think you are hot one moment and discard you the next. There's nothing wrong with the music changing, but it needs to have a connection to its history and pay respect to the classics. We don't have any classic hip hop stations. Songs usually last a couple months if they are lucky, and then disappear forever. Fans need to be up on their hip hop history. Ask an average rock fan, they will most likely be familiar with classics bands. Ask an average rap fan, they won't be able to go back more than 5 years. Its sad really.

It was a different mindframe for the youth back then (slightly). Some say it's all about not making bubble gum tracks or bitch i love u music or crackyafinger bangers... but that's so far from tha truth and notunderstandable how we still have these comments in this day. I know as a parent (which most Hip Hop artist are), I would rather have my child listen to tha Stanky Leg or whatever rather than Bitches Ain't Shit or Chicken Hawk... think about it and get over the fact that little kids like Hip Hop too... who wants 2 b depressed with reality all the time and who gives a shit how an MC feels about his lyrics in everyother bar of tha song.
Snoop could literally fart over a beat for two minutes and long beach iz active would still love it
