quit bein a bunch of pussies and....
« on: March 26, 2009, 09:28:56 PM »
i posted this in the crooked i forum and this is only intended for crooked i fans on dubcnn, if you don't really care for him then its all good and maybe you can agree with me that most crooked i fans are either cheap as fuck or really don't care about having one of his cd's(hip hop weeklys are cool but come on now)

......go buy that crooked i bootleg on FTP.  all of you call yourselves crooked i fans and have been bitching about no cd coming out so why the fuck wouldn't you go and buy somethin when it's actually available?

i know it's probably not the true tracklisting but honestly, at this point do you think there was ever a confirmed official tracklisting to any of his albums?

this post will probably rub a lot of you the wrong way but the fact that there are only 10 crooked i fans that are willing to buy that cd on FTP is ridiculous to me.  there might be some negativity with that site but i've purchased 3 cd's from them and it's always been delivered.

i have no affiliation with FTP and honestly don't give a flyin fuck about them, just someone who wants to hear a Crooked I cd that Crook has not given us.  of course i'll buy whatever album he eventually puts out and happy to give my money to support him but that's not gonna stop me from buyin Say Hi To the Bad Guy

take one for the fuckin team and buy the cd so we can all finally hear this music.  otherwise, keep playin the waiting game we've all been so good at for 10 years and settle for a damn Hood Stars sample on April 18th from wideawake

again i'm just a Crooked I fan who really wants to hear this cd, that australian fag will probably group me in his conspiracy theory tho

Why support it? If you're gonna charge me a price that is above reasonable and then make me wait until other people buy the project, it's not worth it. I'm not supporting anyone who runs business that way. The customer isn't responsible for bringing in your business. You are. If you are charging someone $20 for music, they should gtet what they pay for. Not have to wait around for you to collect a profit before you ship the thing or be treated like a theif who is going to bootleg it and take away your business. The bottom line is if I don't agree with someone's business practices or the way they treat their customer, I am not going to buy anything from them. I don't care how good the product is. And how am I any less of a Crooked I fan because I don't want to buy a bootleg he isn't making any money off of anyway?

Dude...trust me, I understand where you're coming from.  I want to hear this is as much as anyone.  But how many times do I have to buy this project from them?  I bought it once, they returned my money and didn't give me the project.
Okay...now if they had had good reason for it, I would have understood.  But the reason they gave was too much "hating."  Hating?  How?  I was on the FTP forums when they were selling the cd and there wasn't a negative word spoken.  It wasn't like when Los Skanless was selling his project, and there ended up being all this bickering back and forth.  When FTP put their's up for sale, there really wasn't all that much feedback positive or negative, but what they did receive was positive.  They had no reason to cancel this project, other than Los Skanless cancelled his, and they knew they could sit on the material a while longer.
The only reason they're selling this shit now, is because they know Wideawake is going to be watching what's going on bootleg-wise, before too long, so time's running out.
Now for anyone else out there who wants to sell this, holler at me.  I would be happy to buy this, and I'll pay more than what FTP are asking for theirs.  But at this point, the only way I'll buy from them is if they put it up for actual order rather than pre-order, and they send out download links.

Its really frustrating. I wish these fuckers never started this whole "we have Crooked I's cd for sale" shit in the first place. But now its on all of our minds and we still can't get it.

Yeah.  And four sets of snippets later, the bullshit continues.

People have obviously been sitting on this material (plus other DR shit) for years now, and the fact all these shady pre-order releases are coming to the fore now means we'll see this stuff legitimately through wideawake.

Yeah.  The pre-order stuff is getting really old.  People don't move money in and out of their paypal accounts for their health.  And I don't know about everyone else, but when I complete my end of a business transaction, I expect the other party to be responsible enough to hold up their end.  I realize that some of the people doing these pre-order projects have good intentions, but there are others like the people mentioned in this thread who are using some pretty shady business practices.
As Jimmy H. said, the burden should be on them to convince the customer to buy, not the other way around.  If they've only sold 10 copies, that's their fault.  I'm sure they had taken more than 10 pre-orders the first time it was offered.  But let's take a look at how they handled this case specifically:
 1. They misled people about what tracks where in their posession.
 2. After taking orders, they canceled the project without good reason. (phantom hating)
 3. They put the project back up for sale and raised the price.
 4. They dumped the download link option, thusly making things more inconvenient for the customer.
 5.  And my personal favorite: they insulted the customer when they canceled the project the first time.  Anybody else remember that little extra bit of arrogance in that last message on their website "we've been sitting on these tracks for 7 years...maybe we'll just hold onto them another 7 years." (paraphrased) What kind of business acts like this?  That's basically saying "yeah, we lied about not being able to put these tracks out-we could have.  But now, we're not going to put them out again and it's all everyone else's fault, so we're punishing you."

These people have a lot to learn about how to run a business.  If you act like a total Cock-Smack, you don 't get to get a bent out of shape about not selling enough of what you're pushing.

That's really the underlying problem right here. We always knew SOMEONE had this material, that's no secret, but waiving it around in the fans faces the way they all have done just sucks.

See, but that's part of their whole plan to try to make you feel like shit for them not getting enough orders.  That's their way of saying "here's what you don't get to hear...nahnahnabooboo."  Mature, right?

Exactly. To my understanding, they are just selling CD-R's. I'm not sure what their asking price is on these projects but I'm gonna assume it's somewhere in the neighborhood north of $25. If I recall correctly, they were charging something like $35 for the OFTB project when that came out. That's a $30+ mark-up on what is esentially two dollars worth of labor and materials and that's probably being about a $1.50 generous. I'm not gonna bitch about bootlegging. If someone has rare music or a DVD of a movie that isn't commercially available and someone wants to buy it then it's not a huge problem with me. I've bought bootlegs before. It's when you look at the customer like a sucker that things get fucked up. $35-$50 is a price that says "There's a lot of Death Row groupies out there that will pay this." They aren't selling a rare collectible that will appreciate in value. They are selling a fucking CD-R that will pretty much be worthless if the rightful owners ever press up real ones. You're gonna pay something like four times the amonut of what an actual retail CD goes for, for a product that doesn't even look authentic.

And save it with "all you people do is bitch" talk. Yes, people want rare Death Row and Crooked I projects but nobody with any sense at all should be jumping through hoops for something that they are PAYING for. Have respect for the dollar. You get business that way. If you advertise something and someone pays for it, give them what they paid for. If there's a problem with the order, fix it. It's the same shit I told Shonuff and it's the EXACT reason I'd never fuck with him (and he actually has a product I'd be interested in), the customer doesn't have to be grateful. You're not doing me a favor by selling me a CD for $12, anymore than Wal-Mart is doing me a favor by selling me a bag of Doritos for a cheaper price than the gas station down the street. I'd rather have none of these rare projects at all than have to go through a headache in trying to order them. No point in paying to be inconvienced.

I'd rather have none of these rare projects at all than have to go through a headache in trying to order them. No point in paying to be inconvienced.

From what I understand from reading around other forums, they are asking $25.00 each for this cd.  ($20.00 plus $5.00 shipping)  Personally, I don't have too big of a problem with the price. But, that being said, it is more than twice as much as they were asking when it was offered the first time.  And while I realize that this project does include more songs than the first one, that still doesn't justify how they handled their first Crooked I project.
If they wanted to do right by people, they still would have sent out download links for the first project, to the people who had already purchased it.  If it was just a matter of them waiting until they found all of the tracks that they knew were in their possesion, they still could have offered this project later.  If they had chosen to handle it that way, I would have bought two Crooked I projects from them instead of none, and I would have been happy to do so.
But as it stands now, I would rather pay someone else much more money for this material than give them the satisfaction of getting any of my money.  So anyone out their who wants to sell this (who's not FTP) holler at me.  Or FTP, if you want to make this right and send me what I paid for, then I'll consider dealing with you in the future.  But you're right Jimmy H., people have no respect for the value of a dollar anymore.  And while it might be a little thing to them, I'm still not giving them my business.  So instead of selling at least 11 cds, right now they're still stuck at only having sold 10.

I guess it's to each his own but $30 is way too much for a CD especially if it's a CD-R. We're talking about them spending less than a $1 for a CD-R, maybe a $1 for a bubble envelope, less than $2 for shipping, and PayPal will probably take a dollar and change as a fee for an order that's over $25. It seems a bit counterproductive. Yes, you are getting orders from those people but if they handled their business properly, who could tell how much profit they could make? You'll make maybe $250 off ten or twelve people and then you'll be done. Better off to sell it to hundreds of people at a reasonable price then to sell it to a couple dozen at an expensive one. Something for these bootleggers to consider. But like we've both said, price is just one thing. Dealing with the customer is another. Nobody wants to deal with a difficult asshole. There are actually people who will pay more to go to places and shop where they are treated right. It goes the same for Internet business. If you show people a little respect, it will go a long way.

That's what's really funny to me about the people that "support" this operation. They're making a $25 profit off you and it seems to me like they are dictating to you. If y'all exercised some self-control, they wouldn't be able to do this. Make them earn your dollar. If they aren't gonna respect you, don't buy their shit. Leave them with some unreleased shit and a stack of blank CD-R's.

damn i didn't know $25 was so much to all of you.  i'm not tryin to say how much i got but i'm sure you spend well over 20 bucks on the weekends when your gettin fucked up.  i know its a recession but c'mon $25??  if its not a big deal for you to listen to the music then thats understandable but if its a $$ issue then you're either cheap or broke and if you're broke then i feel bad

ha i bet a lot of money that we all spend on random shit eventually goes to assholes we wouldn't like so i'm not gonna be picky about who's on the other end of this product
