damn i didn't know $25 was so much to all of you.  i'm not tryin to say how much i got but i'm sure you spend well over 20 bucks on the weekends when your gettin fucked up.  i know its a recession but c'mon $25??  if its not a big deal for you to listen to the music then thats understandable but if its a $$ issue then you're either cheap or broke and if you're broke then i feel bad

It's not just the money though, man.  It's about the quality of service.  I'd give $100 for the damn thing, if I was guaranteed to actually receive the album.  I haven't always had bad experiences with FTP.  I supported everything they put out between the first O.F.T.B. through J-Flexx.  But after that last O.F.T.B. and their first attempt at a Crooked I release, I feel like they owe me.  And I'm not dealing with them until the make it right.

Lol.  That's actually pretty funny.  I appreciate the analogy. But the thing is, if people keep letting them get away with sub-par service, these projects are going to continue to suffer.  Don't you think that if you buy a project like this, the seller should be held responsible for whether or not you receive the project?  I'm guessing you've purchased this Crooked I project.  You'll probably be pretty upset if they don't deliver, won't you?  I'm just saying that if they want to sell these projects, they should have to deliver.

 About the only thing they've done right is that they know they have something people want.  Other than that, they've completely mishandled this.  They've taken a project that nearly everyone wanted, and alienated people to the point that now they only have a handful of buyers.  And yeah, they can hang on to the material if they want.  But the thing is, the value of these tracks is dropping rather than going up.  A few of the songs have leaked; another one is coming out next month; and Wideawake putting out the entire thing is inevitable.  Their time is running out.

$25 isn't a lot of money in the frame of things but it's a lot to spend on a CD-R that someone burned off their computer.

And if we're gonna take it to "cheeseburger" analogies, I'd say it would be like buying a cheeseburger for $10 that someone made at their house and just wrapped up in a napkin. You had to buy 14 other kinds of foods off their menu that were all overpriced but now you've spent your money and it's finally yours.... Once thirty other people also buy burgers.

haha damn i guess i just dont think about this as much as you do....all of you make decent points but obviously i dont share the same hatred for the people selling the bootleg as you do.  i get the idea that its bullshit that the release isn't guaranteed but how is that any inconveniance to you aside from taking 5 minutes to make the purchase? the money isn't lost....yeah i guess i'll be dissapointed if it doesn't go through but at least i'll know that i made the effort for it to see the light of today rather than tomorrow or 2010 or whatever.

$25 fellas....if they get 100 orders they'll have 2,500 minus any costs if any....the fact that they've been sitting on somethin like this for so long and only manage to get 2500 is insult enough.  i woulda been on the streets gettin at it....but thats beside the point

Since they're putting out physical copies there would be some cost, but it would be minimal.  If they want to cut their cost even more, they should just change it to a digital download.  Then there wouldn't be any cost.  And since it's all found material (they didn't have to pay anything to produce it or obtain it), I really don't understand their thinking that they have to hit a "grand slam" with this thing.  And while I appreciate your trying to be proactive about getting this released, they still haven't guaranteed you anything.  I have already pre-ordered two different Crooked I projects that were cancelled, and so far have nothing to show for my trouble.  If someone who is serious about selling this project wants to contact me, I'll be happy to buy.  But I'm not wasting more of my time with FTP's latest Dog and Pony Show.

  I don't have any hatred in my heart for these guys whatsoever. Like I said if people wanna buy the project that is more power to them but let's call this for what it is. This thread was started, calling out people for not supporting the project when there are some very valid points not to. The project, in my opinion, isn't anywhere near reasonably priced. Beyond that, the business is very questionable.

If they don't have enough customers, perhaps they should change something about how they are doing business. If you have $25 to blow on a CD-R, that's your business but don't try to bait others into following you down that line by accusing them of being "cheap". I wouldn't spend $14 on a Pepsi either. It's not because I'm too cheap to afford the $14, it's because I know how much a Pepsi is worth. I'm no more mad at the person trying to sell it than he should be at me for recognizing his hustle and choosing not to purchase.

It's not an emotional investment with me. I've never bought a thing from them so how could I be mad at them? If you look at the situation from an objective perspective, it's pretty clear that they need to make some changes if they want to raise the projected amount of money. Having the 10 people who did buy the CD flood other forums asking people to cough up the money so they can get theirs isn't the answer. I don't have the Crooked I album at my house so I have no say in you getting it. I cough up the $25 and I get to sit around and play the waiting game with the rest of you. No thank you. Talk to the people with your money. That's on them.
