R.I.P. Phoenix Suns (2004-2009)
« on: March 29, 2009, 08:35:12 PM »
Four games behind the Mavs for that 8th seed, they needed every single win they can muster to get into the play-offs. And yet with a burden like this, they still manage to lose to the worst team in the league. They're still in the race mathematically, but mentally, they are done. There is no recovering from something like this.

Damn shame any time we have to miss Shaq in the play-offs. Anyways, it was nice knowing you guys.

Oh, and I'd like to say that I didn't think Suns were going to accomplish much in the play-offs anyways, but with this team of veterans you never know what kinda match-up they coulda brought. Now that hope is dead, and they are going to get the worst pick any lotto team can possibly get at the 9th seed.

Nah, like I said mathematically they haven't been eliminated. But the gap between them and the Mavs is too huge to cover in the span of 8 games, and they just lost to the damn Kings.

Then again, maybe I am speaking too soon, this is the Mavs we're talking about. They seem to get themselves into the most LOL-worthy scenarios possible.

I agree with yall, the match-up seemed really interesting, and to be frank I think the Suns would have given us a better challenge than the Mavs would have.

no doubt! I could see the Lakers sweeping the Mavs but I really dont think they would of swept the Suns.  Honestly I think it would of been a real good matchup that probably would of went 6 games.

I think at 100% the Lakers have a good enough team to sweep the Suns but regardless a series against the Suns would have been much more interesting than the Mavs.

why would you want to see the Suns?  I think Shaq would actually get up for it and give our bigs problems at times

against the Lakers, I think the Suns could play much better than the Mavs, who have no big men and play ZERO defense, less than the Suns do

LMAO...you really think there's a chance the Suns could take us? LOLOL. Suns would be more entertaining. We'd win in 4 or 5 max. Mavs is gunna be a boring sweep.

they wouldn't win the series but they'd put up more of a fight than the Mavs.... both of them are weak,  but the Lakers own Dallas more

I think it's because people want the challenge (as long as it's not a team that created match-up nightmares in the past, like Warriors to Mavericks lol). Because of the youth mentality of the team, if we cruise through the play-offs too easily, we might become a bit too complacent when the REAL contenders come.

I'm sure most fans though, even I like the challenge and I'd like the Lakers to be the team to put the nail in the coffin for the Suns, don't really care too much who we get to dominate in the first round, as long as it's team we could beat.
