Hiddink is a good manager but m not gonna be getting too excited over what he has done.
Ferguson was a a great manager before he joined United aswell. He put a stop to the Old Firm at one point and even won the cup winners cup with Aberdeen. When he joined United, the squad of players he had were not up to scratch and as the years went on he steadily improved the squad. Look at the signings he's made (Schmeichel, Cantona, Ince, Keane, Yorke, Cole, Stam, Ronaldo etc) and the players he's bought through the youth system (Beckham, Giggs, Scholes, Nevilles etc). I'm not saying money had nothing to do with it, but his choice of signings have been pretty good and matured them into great players. What you haven't pointed out is that Hiddink has led Holland and South Korea, a team that had never won a World cup match in prevoius 5 world cups to fourth place, and Russia to a Euro semi final and won the European Cup with PSV.But in the end Fergie has took a mid table team and from nearly getting sacked, to one of the worlds most best teams. Which for me makes him the best manager modern day manager.
sure, but with the teams he had,how many champions league has won ?
