I think Bishop is really dropped from Aftermath
« on: April 14, 2009, 08:29:50 AM »
RapRadar.com who is owned by former XXL head says he's confirmed it. Now the thing is his site is funded by Eminem's manager Paul Rosenberg (they have a close relationship apparently) so he likely got first hand info from Paul. He confirmed it initially then the Bishop videos replies confused the situation, but he confirmed it again and it is said that HE IS DROPPED, so Bishop is just down playing the situation. Crazy!

Not bashing Bishop. Like him as an artist, but that's mess up. What in the world is wrong with Dre? If it's absolutely true then there had to be an incident that cause it vs the label not wanting him. He was a heavy writer for Detox. Something must've happened.

My gut tells me he probably was but I'm a wait to hear different.  Unless an official agent says something he's still on.

I feel you. but Paul Rosenberg is a very good source.  He works with Aftermath. Thats an official, per se. Let me ask this, what official, til this day, confirmed that Stat Quo, Busta, and the rest were let go from the label? It was internet news just like this, til this day. I don' think we'll ever get an official report except that BIshop  may come out one day admitting it.

i rather wait before believing anything,

but if this is true, then it's not a surprise is it?

do you really think Dre made the final call?
he's just a CEO.

also, just because you're not on aftermath, doesn't mean you can't be on Detox( any more).

Nigger Noize - 2007

The Pope Mobile - 2007

Caltroit - 2007

The Confessional - 2007 or 2008 (i cant think right now)

... am i the only 1 who see's that Bishop dropped 3ann-a-half albums on Aftermath?  If anything it's more like his contract is up at Aftermath.  Peep game folx, this is how the industry works.

Why are y'all actin' like the nigga was on Aftermath doing a Joe Beast or a Brooklyn?

*ALL OF THOSE ALBUMS HAD ALL ORIGINAL PRODUCTION... what exactly are you missing... an all Dre/Bishop album... i knew that wasn't gonna happen from tha jump

Make an album 18-20 tracks of your personal favorites outta all of those albums if you want "The Reformation" album

No one is tripping.

It's pretty clear Bishop made a smart move with those street albums by feeding his fan base and it proves his work ethic and his product at Aftermath.

Only with POSSIBLE hindsight did he make a mistake by pimping himself on all those videos about Detox and the Reformation.  People waited for the Reformation because that's how they pitched it just as people are waiting on Detox because that's how they pitch it.  Both were supposed to be dope, game changing albums.  When you ride that hard for a camp and then is dropped it looks really bad on you.

I agree the various forms of Reformation are spread across his street albums but the unreleased material Bishop has sounds doper (beat wise) then those street albums.

But, no one knows if he got dropped or not.  Either he's on or off Aftermath.  According to Bishop he's still on.  According to unnamed sources he's off.

Look we both agree Bishop is dope and has dropped quality albums (in the disguise of street tapes) for free.

I'm all for him staying with Aftermath if he can get a release date.  If not then he should bounce and make new moves.

He'd do well with some Just Blaze production and could easily be marketed by Jay-Z.
