Raptalk.Net's favorite artist Rain is ready to drop a major project, and we have the press release!

Fayettville, a small city located in Cumberland County, North Carolina which has a population of an estimated 172,000. North Carolina, a state down south which is hardly recognized for the talent it’s produced in the Hip-Hop game. Therefore, how can anyone from Cumberland County have an interesting story to tell? Meet Rain, the small-town MC with big dreams who is certain to make sure his story is heard, and mark Fayettville as a force to be reckoned with on the Hip-Hop map.

It’s a new era in Hip-Hop and after all, rain marks a new beginning. Nothing can grow without rain and Rain himself is here to represent that  new beginning in Hip-Hop with his upcoming project, “Based on a True Story.” With an old school format, the project was entirely produced by The ToyBox crew, a five-man production crew located in Montreal, Canada. With an entire project under their belts, Rain and The ToyBox crew have put together a cohesive sounding project that is sure to catch the attention of all Hip-Hop fans around the world.

On “Better Days”, Rain takes you through the hood and tells tales of conflict, the desperate need for money and doing whatever it takes to put food on the table. Far from glorifying the gang banging lifestyle, instead, Rain takes on the approach of painting a picture of paranoia, “got them jackers ready to come for me, sleep with my pistol, there’s no pillow that could comfort me.” That would simply yet effectively tell the tale of a young man’s life growing up in the hood, but Rain does not forget about the struggles a young female also goes through, “there’s more to life than stripper poles girl you getting fly, spread your wings not your legs, get what you deserve, and once you get it hold onto it, don’t forget these words.” Good advice indeed.

“Cali Lights” features a Battlecat-esque beat which is sure to have all the west coast fans listening and taking notice of the versatile style Rain holds on the mic, paired with his ability to rock any beat which comes his way.  Guaranteed to satisfy the high hopes of west coast fans, “Cali Lights” is sure to go down as one of the best west coast dedication songs from the view of an outsider.

On “Video Footage”, Rain invites all females into his bedroom through the music, and assures you he “knows where to put it.” Show casing more of the freaky side of Rain, the subject matter on this one revolves around the making of a personal video between Rain and his top lover. How many women would love to make a personal video with Rain? Will let you decide that one.

The subject matter on “Hold On” is back at the old school storytelling format over a dark and emotional beat, one which is sure to gain fans for both Rain and the ToyBox crew. With a vivid picture painted that will have your eyes filled with tears, Rain tells his story the only way he knows how to – detailed and surreal. Once again painting the struggles of both young men and women, the tales told on this one are extremely detailed and sad to think of such happenings. Dive into the story of a young male in the ghetto and police brutality, “four bullets in his back which means he was running, never had a chance to see it coming, crooked cops gunning, justice don’t exist, on top of that the community did nothing.” As mentioned, “Hold On” features the double-sword story as it enlists the life of a young females as well; “told me a story about how she was raped as a kid, her momma’s husband held her down and put it in her ribs.” This is sure to get Rain’s message to the people, no matter how hard life is, hold on and rise above your problems.

“Based On A True Story” is set to be the biggest and best free download project of the year. Serving as the prerequisite to Rain’s “Fly Gangsta EP” (which is set to be released later this year), “Based On a True Story” is the album for the every day person who faces the struggle, whether living in the ghetto or middle class and facing the effects of the recession, put this album on and let Rain tell the story of your pain through the art of his music. After all, it is a new beginning and nothing can grow without rain; let’s grow together.

“Based on a True Story” will be available for free download in the near future.
