Most people don't remember anything about the Yanks recents series. The only Yankee World Series memories people know are Larsens perfect game and Reggie's 3 home run game. And most people probably couldn't tell you what years those were. And don't even front on this one, when the Mets are in the playoffs the city is beyond electric. The Yanks... no one really cares. I have family members that are Yanks fans that say they have never seen the city behind a baseball team like they were the Mets in 86. The city pretty much stopped during game 6 of the 86 NLCS. You have never seen the Yanks have that type of affect on NYC.
so name a better franchise... no doubt its all about right now, but i dont see any argument at all over one game.we played, we lost, we move on.home opener in new stadium counts all the same as a game mid-season in Chicago, doesnt bother me.we played like shit, but Cliff was on today; got to tip your cap to good pitching.the whole talking about the past thing is like, "well your scrub ass team hasnt done shit in 25 years & you got lucky then, so what the fuck do i care what the fuck you say?" & your not in some GRAND position as of this moment to open your mouth still, so... see you in the postseason...maybe. And if you don't believe me about 86 go ask your dad. And another thing, why keep bringing up that the Mets haven't won anything in 23 years for a reason I can't talk shit. We're from NY, we both know if the Mets won it 23 years ago and the Yanks 8 years ago doesn't mean shit, so stop relying on WHERE SUCH A GRAND FRANCHISE AND YOU GUYS SUCK. Just admit your team has looked like trash this year and get off the high horse. And please tell me how the Mets go lucky in 1986 ? I already know where you're going with this one I just want to drop some knowledge.
