I haven't really been a T.I. fan, until I heard his work he's done with Dre.  Now I have to admit that he has some talent.  I went and checked out the track "Touchdown" he did with Em, and it's clear both artists are talented, but the song doesn't work.  Some artists just don't mix.

Yeah.. before he got with 50 he used to only work with artists with comparable styles.  Artists who had some grit or humor in their lyrics, sad, sick, demented, that was his style.  I think the track he did with 50 "Patiently Waiting" worked well, but other than that I think 50 Cent was the beginning of him thinking he could come with a gangsta or baller style that doesn't work for him.

See these fans can't resist the rush,
they Wu-Tang for life
Scarred for life,
they can't forget the cuts

I thought Jay was way out of his league on the song.  I think the version with Royce is much better, and stays true to Em's style and original concept of the song.  Jay is far from a "Renegade".

Just what I was thinking as I started to read this thread.

I can't say that I haven't enjoyed Em's stuff post-Get Rich but it's been far less consistently enjoyable since then for me. Everything after the "8-Mile" soundtrack was hit and miss. "Encore" wasn't as terrible as people made it out to be but there were definitely a handful of tracks that made me wondering what he was on. Him talking about farting and doing entire verses as Triumph the Insult Dog puppet.

exactly, i enjoyed some of that shit.

No Apologies on "The Re-Up" was dope & "When I'm Gone" wasnt that bad; gave me the feeling that Eminem still has something left.

people in the rap world are saying this Relapse is going to be a dark album (aside from We Made You), so im pumped. 8)

who's T.I.?

He's this rapper who's done a few songs for Dre's Detox album.  Most notably the leaked song "Topless"... although his vocals will ultimately be replaced by Dre's.

Lunatic

terrible song but T.I. dropped some REAL TALK on his 2nd verse (last verse on the song) if you listen closely

glad your getting into T.I.

his sophomore album "Trap Muzik" (2003) is easily his best, a near classic imo.
