TV star found hanged at age 22

Police in South Wales made a grisly discovery recently – the hanged body of actress Stephanie Parker. According to TV.com, the star of the BBC Wales drama Belonging was found on open ground near Pontypridd.

She was 22.

"I can confirm that we investigated a report of a deceased woman on open ground near Pontypridd yesterday morning," a police spokesperson said. "The incident is not regarded as suspicious and a report has been passed on to the HM coroner."

The spokesperson confirmed that the body was identified as Parker.

The actress played regular character Stacey Weaver on the long-running series, which aired its final episode last Thursday.

"Everyone at BBC Wales – especially all those who worked on Belonging – is extremely saddened at the news of Stephanie's tragic death,” said Clare Hudson, BBC Wales’ head of English-language programmes.

"Stephanie was an immensely talented actor who, as Stacey, played a central role in Belonging since she was 15 as well as appearing in other BBC productions such as Casualty. Stephanie also worked with BBC Wales Radio Drama Department on productions for Radio Four.

"Stephanie's talent played a major part in making Belonging the success it was and I'm sure that the program's fans will be shocked by this untimely news. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this very difficult time."
