Jihad Calls On Major Artists To Join Him On "We Want Peace" - By : Mil - April 22, 2009

Regular visitors will already be familiar with the Cerritos, CA up and comer Jihad. He recently reached out to various artists to get together and draw attention to one of the major issues in the world that needs resolving. Below we have some words from Jihad himself shedding light on the project:

"This song was put together by me in an effort to bring awareness to the situation in Gaza and make a call for peace on both sides. The song is a call for "peace", in regards to, the whole Palestine/Israel conflict going on over Gaza.

The track is produced by Grammy nominated and platinum selling producers, "Big 4D/The Secret Specialists" and it was mixed by "Lou Dog" of legendary rock group Sublime. The song has already received press and media coverage out in the Middle East and there are plans being worked out for a music video being shot and also for a Middle East tour/concert to take place with the acts being all the artists involved.

It took a collective effort from my camp Rebellion and my business partner/close friend, Joe Park, all the way down to my publicist, PR people and producers i work with to make this happen.

I commend everyone involved and ask that people really support these artists because all of this was done with no budget and everyone involved did it for free. We encourage everyone to spread this song to as many people as they can and help push the movement, "We Want Peace"."

Below is the song which features Crooked I, Bellywize, Chali 2na, Rakaa Iriscience, Ya Boy, Trick Trick & Nazy.

Jihad - We Want Peace (Feat. Crooked I, Bellywize, Chali 2na, Rakaa Iriscience, Ya Boy, Trick Trick & Nazy)

We at dubcnn would like to thank Jihad and all the artists involved as well as encourage all readers to support this song and spread the word.

Track is the dopeness.

The only reason you should be scared of the term jihad is if your ignorant.  As the artist attempts to teach in the song jihad only means struggle.  Everyone has a jihad.  Learn up on some language.

I assume this is what Crooked-I means by creating material that has more significance.  It's a good look for Crooked and Ya Boy.  Enough hate is spread through music.

Check out Emmanuel Jal.  Used to be a war child but through luck of fate he managed to escape that life and is now creating music similar to this.
Cool breeze; I'm hopping out of new Beams
My outfit ran me a few G's but none of that will matter if you leave
I used to be an Adam with two Eves and shawtys automatically do me
Excuse me, all that happened before you doesn't matter
I'm a vision of the future climbing the success ladder
Recline, in the mean time, twenty three shine, diamond bling blind as I rewind

True. But most people are ignorant. This is why Kokane never gets spins on the radio. You get my point...

I hate that argument that most people are ignorant therefore something that supposedly resembles intelligence should be dumbed down or change.  How about we start assuming people are intelligent, set a standard, let all the ignorant people catch up to page, and move forward.  The more we dumb down shit the more stupider we get.

True again. I feel what you say. But it's fact. People are scared of things they don't know anything about. But I don't think ''major'' artists are willing to work with someone who calles himself Jihad.

ji⋅had
/dʒɪˈhɑd/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [ji-hahd] Show IPA
–noun
1.    a holy war undertaken as a sacred duty by Muslims.
2.    any vigorous, emotional crusade for an idea or principle.
Also, jehad.

Origin:
1865–70; < Ar jihād struggle, strife

i'd say most americans associate the word with the first definition, with westerners being considered as infidels.  if the guy picked such a buzzword name he had to be aware of the positive and negative connotations, so i'm not going to apologize for the conditioned response the word elicits.
