My best Dr. Dre impression....
« on: May 05, 2009, 09:35:13 PM »
I didn't intend for this to sound like a straight Dr. Dre rip off, but once I had the piano melody, I kinda just decided to go that route.  I've since cleaned up the kick (tightened it up), and slightly modified the bass and piano.  Once I burn it to disc I'll re up that version (if anyone wants to hear it)  Feedback is appreciated, I'll give props for feedback (good or bad)

well.. this kind of lowers my opinion of Dre seeing how easy it was for you to come up with the Dre sound.  Really, you could of told me it was a Dre beat and I definitely would have believed you.  I miss his old Chronic/Parliment sound

By no means was this easy to come up with.  I actually played the piano in a different key, then transposed it down.  It's also taken years of collecting sounds to even come close to anything Dre has.  The snare in this beat is 5 different snares layered together, and only after mastering did it sound anything similar to what Dre come up with.  It was made on hardware as well, no computer programs.  Either way, I appreciate the feedback.  But don't let it bring dre down, let it bring me up!  haha

LOL... Then props to you, for sure.  If you can do this, you should go professional.

I'm gonna add some strings or something and repost it.  I don't have a chorus part figured out yet.  Thanks for all the feed back (keep it coming).

I know where you should put some strings. At 14 just before the low piano drops, u play a note just a little bit higher and then it follows the low piano. Would be sick.

Nice beat btw  8)
