Dr. Dre to work with Portishead on Detox
« on: May 07, 2009, 06:18:55 PM »
I've been a fan of Portishead since forever but I just remember them with dat Bleu track on dubcnn.com.  It would be a phenominal record if Dr. Dre had Portishead (all members) and maybe Trent Reznor co-producing every track on Detox, and I mean EVERY track.  Detox would be the greatest record to ever come out and it would be a brand new sound that you KNOW everybody would jump on.  I pray this idea isn't only left in my imagination.

  - perfect for a Dre track

- you cant say this dont sound like no Dre shit
- sounds like some RZA shit

This idea should be brought to their attention.  Tell em it's a fan request or something.  Tell them we'll buy it and it'll shut all tha critics up (bcuz it will).  Some1 out there work your resources

Not all the members, just Geoff Barrow. And Reznor with dre could be an interesting collaboration, but not for a whole album (same for barrow of the portishead)

Detox aint gonna be that long anyway (12-13 tracks).  Plus Dre won't release it until he's satisfied anyway, so automatically you know its gonna go hard front 2 back.  If it's a concept album it'll need a theme and mood.  I just think somethin as abstract as that would be momumental 4 music.

uhm, portishead are busy with the recordings of the new album, dre is locked in the studio with 15 session players for detox, and i'm sure dre wants to be only "big name" behind the board,he's too much diva to share the production with a big name like the producer of the portishead (somebody more skilled and talented than him).
