He just had his best inning in the 7th lol.

I got a small beef with Lyons though, he's always saying that pitch count is overrated etc etc.  Tell that to countless 28-30 old pitchers that can't pitch anymore because of being overworked.  With the emergence of bullpen usage in the 80s and on, Starting Pitchers don't need to go past 125 pitches.  It's pretty obvious that once pitchers reach past 80, they start to get worse and worse.  So if you have a bullpen, not only do you preserve a player's arm you also put up better pitching for your team...in general.

That was a good game, a GREAT 7th inning, and a smart decision to take him out once the no-hit bid was gone. Pitch counts can be overrated because there are a lot of factors, but to deny them is way worse, there are a good number of hard-throwing pitchers who succeed for a few season before their arms go out. Hearing Lyons, Buck, McCarver, Karros, and all of those tool announcers makes you appreciate the good ones though.

Honestly, even though I'm a Giants fan, by the 6th inning, with a 6-0 lead I wanted to see Kershaw get the no-hitter, would have been cool to see.

Damn right he's no Joba, he's better lol.  If either Clayton or Chad were Yankees...motherfuckers would have been seen as superstars already.
