Encore Is The Shit!

MMLP = SSLP > TES > Relapse >>> Encore.

but TES was a great album to me, but MMLP & SSLP are two REAL classic albums to me.

two of the best albums ever.

both amazing albums IMO and I bump them on the regular.. STILL.

Those are off the top of my head, I am sure there are many others but I haven't listened to that many albums in recent years. The main reason is because there are so many underwhelming album releass.

Okay, I agree all dope albums better than Encore.  Now, I'm going to remove those that aren't commercially popular, that is, mainstream.  I ain't hating with this process because Tech is one of my favorite artists, Rev. Vol. 2 is a personal favorite.

We're left with 7 albums, 7 artists.   

My only point is that while Encore was a mediocre album for Eminem it wasn't exactly horrible.   Understandably, a huge disappointment for a lot of people's rational expectations but still doesn't compute to being a horrible album as in a piece of shit that is complete trash and deserves to get ragged on. 

Okay, I'm done voicing my opinion. 

Here's my final word:

I like Encore, I like relapse, I like Kingdom Come.  Eh, I really don't care.  I'm happy with'em. 
hate that shit, the more hate the artist gets more often the better they get
at the end of the day I like what I like, no logic can really explain why so dueces to this thread

Yeah, pretty much, except I think that this might be even more correct:

MMLP = SSLP > TES = Relapse >>> Encore

On a strictly personal level I'd rank like like this:

SSLP > MMLP = Relapse > TES > Encore

With not THAT much setting the albums apart. I don't think any of his albums are true classics and I think Encore is a solid album.

I think he still had not reached his peek.  I think Eminem's greatest album was The Eminem Show.  That album is flawless from beginning to end, and he even produced the majority of the tracks on there.  Slim Shady LP and MMLP were both great records as well, but they were shorter and reflected an earlier period is his career, I think Eminem Show is when he came full circle. 

Then his most successful song ever and the song I believe he will be most remembered for 20 years from now is "Lose Yourself" off the 8 Mile Soundtrack.  Also, "8 Mile" rd. is my personal favorite of his.  Also, his work on 50's first album and jump starting his career early on can not be forgotten.  Then after Get Rich Or Die Trying jumped off Eminem fell off after that and has never been the same since.  That's when you really start to notice a difference.  But from 1998 to 2003 everything Eminem put out was excellent.

I agree.. I really thought Em really upped his game on TES.  To me it's his best album.  MMLP is 2nd in my book.  To me I could never get into SSLP and don't know what everyone sees in it when they say it's so great and it's his best..

i can see why you guys think that Eminem did a step forward with The Eminem Show, but i disagree.
he just changed his approach, in compared to the first two albums.

to me, The Marshall Mathers LP is his best work, as it perfected what the Slim Shady LP started (although the slim shady character was made earlier)
to me The Eminem Show already indicated that Eminem was past his peak ( not based on the direction!); the album is still alright though.

true, i prefer Relapse over Encore ( overall), as the weaker tracks of Encore really drag it down.
not to mention that the better tracks off Relapse top the better tracks from Encore.

but both albums are from the same level, as they have lots of filler.
plus they both showcase that Eminem can do much better

although this album includes one of the worst eminem track "big weenie" and mostly full of average songs, it has a few tracks that we can call "eminem classics" like;

evil deeds
mockingbird
one last time
we as americans
love you more

and this album is the first eminem album that has no bass brothers productions
he had a new co-producer and musician named "luis resto" and there was more dre productions then last eminem albums
actually thats why he couldnt do better then "eminem show".
he spoiled the chemistry.
now he is working with interesting names with their productions that can't fit eminem's style and however eminem is only yelling for long time
if u look at his last albums and compare, yeah encore is the shit!!!!
thats the last good thing he did for "one last time"

"Encore" was a good album...definitely underrated, but not one of his bests.
