To separate us from the animals...morality is a man-made virtue, hence why it is subject to change. Case in point, 100 years ago it was okay to lynch black people. Lets not pretend like there's this underlying code of values that governs how we live. Morality exists because we as a society made it. That doesn't mean its a bad thing. Morals allow us all to live our lives without (hopefully) worrying about being fucked over by other people every day.
