Am I Alone On This One?
« on: June 10, 2009, 01:54:34 PM »
As much as I get tired of the whole autotune thing, I gotta say I would rather listen to a T-Pain autotune club banger, than Jay Z's new "Death of Autotune" track. I just can't get in to it at all.

well i dont think jay zs song is really al that great. And plus id rather hear T Pain on autotune than strained, off key jayz wailing. However the tpain club banger you're talking about is pretty rare and the chances of another Im in luv wit a stripper are pretty slim.

Am I alone?

Plies - Shawty
DJ Khaled - Go Hard / Im So Hood
Jamie Foxx - Blame It
Rick Ross - The Boss / Maybach Music II
Kanye West - Good Life
Mike Jones - Cutty Buddy
Lil Wayne - Got Money
R-Kelly - Im A Flirt
Ace Hood - Cash Flow
E-40 - U & Dat
Chris Brown - Kiss Kiss

Just those songs from T-Pain are better than Jay D.O.A.

na, DOA is some real dope shit.

but i understand where your coming from but i think you have it twisted.

some autotune songs are more "enjoyable" than DOA, but i don't know if they are "better" songs, ya dig? ;)

exactly..

and more enjoyable where you might love playing that auto tune in the car or dancing to in the club..

but better overall songs than DOA?

I'd rather listen to than T-Pain. Maybe its because its that Roger Troutman style.

That DOA is garbage other than a decent beat  but even the beat i wasnt really that into, in a second i can think of better autotune tracks, Nipsey & Game - They Roll.

I don't think comparing the two tracks are necessary fair.

I mean T-Pain made a club joint, Jay-Z made a reflective joint on hip-hop today.

I'd rather see a dope club record ala In Da Club, Big Pimpin, Hypnotize than a T-Pain club track.

i personally felt American Gangster was real good & Kingdom Come had some dope tracks on it.

just being slept on.

if you can feel Jay's flow then you can appreciate the music he is pushing.

BP3 will be great. 8)

Marketing ploy is all Jay is up to with that new track. Not the first time from him.

I absolutely agree. T-Pain never bothered me, its the copycats that keep using autotune and playing it out that bother me.

not really, i do like some stuff by him.  But like Dnice said, that song is a marketing ploy and thats the part that annoys me so much about jay, just like how he fed off of a movies hype to sell records the last time. He just comes off as such a gimmick to me. Tell me that a song called Death of Autotune doesnt sound like it should be on a mixtape.
