pitchers better than Matt Cain:

Johan Santana
CC Sabathia
Danny Haren
Doc Halladay
Jon Lester
Josh Beckett
Jake Peavy
Tim Lincecum
Chad Billingsley
Cole Hamels
....im gonna stop here when i shouldn't

not taking anything away from MAtt Cain but lets not let two months blind someone into thinking he's better than Johan freaking Santana

^^LMFAO, Thanks for the good laugh!  Your argument about "2 months" and then putting Billingsly on the list is priceless lol, step it up.

I will repeat myself again, 9-1, 2.37era and 3 complete games

How can you say Matt Cain is not close to Billingsley!!  Where is the logic in that statement?  Now Lincy is better than both because he won cy young last year and has been amazing again this year but lets compare Chad and Matt this year.  Same amount of wins but Cain has better era and 2 less losses, you saying Cain isn't shit compared to Billingsley is making it difficult to take you serious here.

not as good as Chad's but he is still strikeout machine and with 2.37 era that stat doesn't mean anything.  Billingsley is great but to say Cain isn't shit compared to him is plain laughable.

Chad has been great, him and Cain are on top of NL cy young race right now and then Lincecum followed by Johan. Still 3 and a half months left so we will see 8)

yeah..theyre comparable..but bills has certain better stats, and vice versa.

if bills would just have confidence in his stuff, he would be #1 in the mlb...but i still think he trys to strike everyone out..and sometimes that gets him in trouble.  he'll learn tho..in 2 years, he will be in that #1 talk :bandit:

A LOT of great pitching this year...no doubt about that...sucks to be a hitter in the NLW...Lincecum, Bills, Haren, Cain, Webb, Peavy..jesus.  no wonder the NLW isnt all that good when it comes to hitting ;)

has there ever been a tie in the cy young voting?

EDIT: nvm.. "There has been only one tie in the voting, in 1969 ( Mike Cuellar of the Baltimore Orioles and Denny McLain of the Detroit Tigers), and that prompted a change: Instead of voting for one pitcher, writers had to make first-, second-and third-place choices. Only seven times has a writer ever split a vote between two pitchers, and there's no need to do so this year."

He is actually in the slot as our #3 starter 8)

It's not a one-year thing though, he has been good since he came into the league but he was a victim of the worst run-support in the league. There's a reason teams were trying to get him last season around the deadline and this offseason. The top 2 pitchers had rough weekends, hopefully Halladay's injury is no big deal. As for Santana, I saw a rumor about his velocity being down, but I think he will dominate his next start.
