HBO Boxing returns to the Garden in New York City for a welterweight prizefight with a world title on the line.

On the eve of the Puerto Rican day parade, PR sensation Miguel Cotto (33-1, 27 KOs)
faces tough Ghana native Joshua Clottey (35-2, 20 KOs), looking to establish himself as a contender in the elite ranks of the division.

honestly i cant vote or decide yet...
im just gonna have to enjoy the fight

ive kept up with both of these guys for years and i know both of them are GREAT boxers
if Clottey wins this will only make people more scared of him and ducked even more
if Cotto wins then this calls for a rematch with Sugar Shane

If Cotto runs out of gas then Clottey will win easily
if not then its gonna be a hard one to call

ive never seen Clottey run out of gas and he has a better body then Cotto does so Cotto is really gonna need a new game plan when attacking the body cus thats what he is good at...

^^Defo a toss up I agree, But Clottey's high guard is the only real thing that I do not like about his style.
Sure against head hunter's it works/worked well for him in the past, But Cotto will defo be looking to take it to the body early.

That said, The jury is still out on MC after the Margarito fight..
This will show us what he has left, or if the fight has indeed took something out of him.

I'm hyped.

Im gonna go with Cotto, but it will go the distance. Clottey is fuckin impressive to me, hella underrated, and I like him as a fighter. But Cotto is gonna wanna show that he should be back in the pound for pound discussion. Gotta remember, the Margarito loss was more then likely bullshit.

I feeel Clottey was jobed.

Real shit. You know boxing, and Cotto is SO much more marketable then Clottey.  A Cotto loss would have been devistating to his career.  But watching the fight, Clottey controlled the fight for the most part. Only that flash knock down hurt him on the score cards, and the two rounds after he twisted slowed him a bit, and the 12th round.  But I see Clottey winning at least 7 rounds, maybe 8. He was the aggressor the entire fight, and a lot of times judges give the nod to the guy pushing the fight in a close fight. Except this one.
