From what I've seen Communism wouldn't be as advantageous as a capitalistic society, but I've never lived in a communist environment, so I can't back up that statement. Speaking of Marx, wasn't he more (Or I should say his ideas were more) of a socialist than a communist? Just curious.
I'm sure that Marx is generally considered the authority on Socialism. In fact sometimes you'll hear socialism called Marxism. Communism is more similar to Socialism in the aspect of everyone has a job, but from what I can tell, the biggest difference between the two is that the government owns the "companies" that communists work for, where as the workers own the company in a socialistic society. Which is what the whole Socialist "Utopian Society" is based on. They are similar in how jobs are run, the ownership is different though. Less oppression in a socialist environment as opposed to communist. Kind of hard to put it in writing. Would be alot easier to verbally tell you. Maybe I'll check to see if you are on msn later if you want to talk about it.
The main floor in the socialist concept is that it inadvertantly discourages individuality, which in any 'society' isnt a good thing.
There's pro's and cons. Generally I disagree with it. I'd have to actually live in a communist society to offer a truly educated opinion. I've read about people that have lived both in a capatalist society like America, and then later in a communist society like Cuba, and generally they prefer a democratic, capatalist society. In fact, they say that communism suppresses your "soul", and that depression is high. But depression is real high here.... Look at the statistics of depressed people in America. Another posotive about Communism is that you control the work, instead of the work controlling you. I tried to read Karl Marx but found it to difficult.... So what ya'll think? And what countries are communist? Here's the ones I thought were, correct me if I'm wrong.CubaAlgeriaCentral AfricaNorth KoreaChinaNorth VietnamRussia
