The D.o.c. Thread
« on: June 27, 2009, 08:10:48 AM »
People act like they don't know what the Doc has done for the westcoast (death row/ ruthless/Snoop and other cats)

No One Can Do It Better and Helter Skelter where out of this world and it feels to me that motherfuckers are forgeting the Doc, as far as i know, the D.o.c. is returnin' to rap for a final album and snoop said he's going into surgery to get his voice back, so i think we should have a sticky thread for all the updates on the D.o.c. so that when his time comes to drop a classic it wont flop (sales) like Blaqkout.

come on y'all Doc fans i know you're still there, "keep it tight for a nigga, don't forget me y'all"

Peace.

I think part of the problem is a lot of the newer fans might not actually know how much D.O.C. did for rap.  And if that's the case, I recommend they check out "No One Can Do it Better."  He truly was one of the great early Westcoast lyricists.

^ oh definatly, i'd easly put him up with Pac, Cube on the West side, people don't know that Chronic most of 2001, and some of snoops albums (doggystyle, blue carpet treament) were crafted by Doc as well as the NWA cats, Helter Skelter is a heavy dark G Funk album, people he is making a return dont forget him :)

Indeed. The D.O.C. is one of my favorite MC's. I got mad love for Tracy and what he did for the industry. If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have The Chronic nor Doggystyle.

Top 5 off of one great album? I know he's done a lot of ghostwriting, but that shouldn't really count towards his career as a rapper.
