I liked it, Honestly the directing was fucked up in certain scenes. Shaky Cam is very common (and over used). I was able to follow it with no problems, but that's because I know John's history. Honestly my family was lost cause scenes had no Backround, depth or transitional scenes. So yeah I say watch if your looking for a film sorta like SCARFACE. Don't expect no God Father/Goodfella's type shit.

i thought id get passed the cinematography, cause even in the previews i didnt like the direction, well i didnt, it was alright, but i feel like what he was trying to do was terrible the handheld cam/'documentary style, even with different and great directing i still think it would have been ALL THAT but def better

about the end, is the line from the movie?

Can't wait to see it.
reviews said it was ehh.

it has an 8.4 rating on IMDB, 5,000+ votes.

ohh wow, in one New York newspaper it got a 3/5 & another paper gave it a 1/5 ( :o).

another website i checked gave it a 3/5; but i never listened to the critics anyway, they're always wrong. ;D
Them NY papers are pathetic.  I'm from the westcoast & I know this.  And the critics don't know jack sometimes.  I remember the tv critics not liking Weekend at Bernie's thinking it was dumb.  And that movie was hilarious.  The 2nd one shouldn't have been made though.

That's Michael Mann's signature style, it can be hit or miss.

He's talking about how it looks like Christian Bale plays the same Character and voice. Even though he's Welsh and that's his Main American Accent. He talks in Interviews most of the time so people won't get distracted that he's being played by a Welsh actor. Christian Bale is at times a mix bag. Some times he can do it masterfully (Batman) sometimes people will see him as fucked up (John Conner). Personally I think he's a Serious actor look at The Machinist, he lost all that weight and then he started to bulk up afterwords for Batman.

^no, thats not what hes talking about. LOL. he was saying that Christian Bale is hit or miss with his acting, and I really dunno of any roles he played to a sub-par standard. ???

^Rescue Dawn, plus i am not a big fan of his Batman; but it's weird because he has been the best Batman lol.

i liked Christian Bale in "The Prestige" - great film & when he was about 10 he made "Empire Of The Sun" - another great movie.

i wouldn't say he's hit or miss, but i would say in my opinon he isn't always the same actor.

overall - good actor.
