LOS ANGELES - Earlier this week an email began circulating promoting a website that claimed to have video footage of AVN Award winner Jenna Jameson in a lesbian relationship with Britney Spears. A number of recent rumors had linked the porn-queen and the pop-queen together in a platonic sense.

The email in question had a subject line that read: "Brittany Spears and Jenna Jameson caught kissing at Jenna's Porn Party!"

Upon learning of the email, Jameson said the scam was created to market myfindit.com, self-labeled as the "Napster of Porn." Sources at ClubJenna assert that no such video exists.

"It's sad to see scam artists trying to capitalize any way they can on the net," Jameson said in a statement to AVN.com.

A cease and desist letter was sent by Jameson's attorney Gary L. Crandell this week to Wendy Walls of Los Angeles, the listed registrant and administrator of the myfindit.com, for using a website she controls "to publish false and injurious statements of and concerning Jenna Jameson and Brittany Spears." A copy of the cease and desist letter was sent to Bill Hart of Netvisions Enterprises in Atlanta, who is listed as the technical contact for a related site.

"The statements include representations of fact that Jenna Jameson was involved in a lesbian relationship with Britney Spears at her home in Arizona. The statement is made purely for the purpose of promoting and marketing a Website. You are aware that your claims are false and you have published your libelous statements for the purpose of profiting from the celebrity of these two famous persons," said Crandell.

Crandell demanded an immediate halt to use of the false statements and said any repetition would be "prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law." Crandell also reports that the e-mail address listed by Walls when she registered her Website is no longer in use, and Hart's e-mail address refuses to accept electronic mail from Crandell.

However, spam watchdogs such as spamhaus.com have identified the originator of the email in question as the work of a man or group known as Gaven Stubberfield. The name Stubberfield is well known within the anti-spam community - he or they are considered one of the major spammers on the internet. Among other scams attributed to Stubberfield involved a similar email scam promising recipients free access to footage of Angelina Jolie and numerous stock pick scams.

Wendy Wells is just one of the pseudonyms attributed to Gaven Stubberfield. All contact listed under that name's NIC-handle is false. In the case of "Wendy Wells"' current contact information listed for myfindit.com - the physical address doesn't even exist, and the phone number is disconnected.

"Web users are being lured to the site by the promise of a video tape that does not exist," according to Sarah Perkins, a spokesperson for ClubJenna, Inc. "Once the site is accessed, users are instructed on how to obtain 'guaranteed free access to pay [porn] sites.' The customers then get caught up in a billing nightmare when they try to obtain the video or the content. It's a total scam. We were anticipating something like this with all the Jenna/Britney publicity that has been going around. It's unfortunate to see such blatant rip offs used to snare members to adult sites."
